Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Print
Heidelberg India is connecting with printers via trade shows and seminars to create awareness among the printing fraternity on the latest trends and technical updates from prepress, press, post-press, and Gallus solutions.
In this direction, Heidelberg India recently organized an exclusive technical conference for Indore Master Printers Association (IMPA) at Indore on 26 August 2022. The conference had a theme on ‘Unfold your Potential with Heidelberg’ and focused on artificial intelligence in print with Heidelberg, prinect press solutions, and post-press portfolio in packaging and pharma solutions. The seminar was well attended by 75 printers from the commercial, packaging, and pharma segment.
Viraj Damle, Cluster Sales Head, West at Heidelberg, spoke about ‘Artificial intelligence in Print 4.0’ and elucidated the latest offering from Heidelberg. Damle added, “The key features about how to increase the overall equipment efficiency (OEE), significant reduction of process-dependent and operator dependent downtimes through Heidelberg’s “push to stop technology’. Focusing on yellow bar, intelligent navigation system and Heidelberg UX – user experience, multi-color technology and more.”

While, Annamalaichami Prabaharan, DGM – Sales and Product Management (Post press) at Heidelberg, explained the technical benefits of Easymatrix die-cutting and folding gluing solutions and how it helps for faster production, material cost saving, and significant waste reduction. Also, he highlighted the advantages of Heidelberg Stahlfolder TI-36 folding equipment, which is mainly used for pharma insert folding. Also explained the features of Polar cutting equipment.
Anit Kumar Saha, Senior Product Manager – Prinect at Heidelberg, focused on the impending need to increase the efficiency of a print shop with a workflow solution that is not limited to prepress but encompasses the entire lifecycle of the print job from prepress to planning and managing shop floor operations.
Saha stressed, “Prinect Production Manager or simply Proman remains at the core of Heidelberg’s business strategy and is poised to grow steadily in the near future to serve as a one-stop solution for commercial, digital, packaging and label printing applications.” Saha laid emphasis to the Analyze Point feature’ in particular and the need for print shop owners to leverage shopfloor data analytics to enhance the overall performance of the business. “Reports such as real time machine status, machine performance, job status, shift reports, operator performance, overall production statistics, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of shopfloor equipment, print quality reports can be accessed at the click of a button and provide the much-needed data points to course the future of the business,” added Anit.
