From time to time, HEIDELBERG fosters educational initiatives to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. They wish to empower and nurture the future generation of printing professionals with collaborative events that drive progress and excellence in the printing industry.

More recently, HEIDELBERG India, in association with Sivakasi Master Printers Association, recently organized an enriching industrial visit and hosted a technical seminar ‘Print Trends 4.0 & Artificial Intelligence.’ The event witnessed a remarkable turnout with industry enthusiasts eager to explore the print future.

The program included industrial visit for the final year printing technology students of SIPT (Sivakasi Institute of Printing Technology) and AGP (Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic) college, Sivakasi along with a technical presentation on latest HEIDELBERG Solutions. The second event was a seminar with the printers and print buyers in and around Sivakasi.

The industrial visit…

The industrial visit was held at ‘UNIGRAA Print Solutions,’Sivakasi Printing Cluster Unit. It was profound knowledge sharing session by HEIDELBERG team for the students. During this industrial visit, a live demo on the Speedmaster CD 102 5 + L press was a great learning experience for the students. The session was interactive for the young minds who were interested in the process. The students had questions which was answered in detail by HEIDELBERG experts.

Harihara Prasadh, Technical Manager at Heidelberg, said, “The event was organized for the printing technology students to explore the real-world applications and market conditions. Our primary goal was to provide a firsthand experience on latest advancements in printing technology. We took the students on a fascinating tour of the UNIGRAA Print Solutions.”

Aakash, final year student at AGP College, said, “The session was bridging the gap between their theoretical books and real-world applications and there was a live demo which was helpful to learn more in detail about the press. Witnessing the entire printing process from the feeder to delivery; and learning about essential aspects like ink control and color measurement was an invaluable experience.”

At the seminar, Prabaharan Annamalaichami, DGM – Sales at HEIDELBERG, the keynote speaker, shared an insightful session on how the industry will develop and how we should overcome new challenges concerning Artificial Intelligence technology. Annamalaichami shared benefits of the Artificial Intelligence integration and unique features of the Speedmaster and highlighted on how productivity is enhanced by using the Artificial Intelligence concept. Prabaharan also highlighted, how the industry is embracing the revolutionary concept of Print Trends 4.0, which encompasses innovative technologies and practices.

The seminar well received by commercial and packaging printers from Sivakasi, who had raised new points which were of great outcome at the seminar. It was an eye-opener session on Artificial Intelligence usage and HEIDELBERG Speedmaster integration with Artificial Intelligence.
