Narendra Modi pledges for a certain date on that the currency note to start printing on India manufactured security paper and inks

To give a major boost for ‘Make in India’ campaign prime minister Narendra Modi wants Reserve Bank India (RBI) to take initiative to print currency notes in India ensuring that the security paper and the ink used in printing these notes are manufactured indigenously. In this way we will give a good start to ‘Make in India’ campaign. He was addressing the officials of RBI on the occasion of its 80th anniversary in Mumbai. He further said to take a pledge for a certain date on that the currency note to start printing on India manufactured security paper and inks. He enquired that does it look nice that the photograph of the father of nation, who fought for self sufficiency (Swadeshi) is being printed on foreign security papers with inks? He said that he would appreciate the initiative to setup any unit for printing currency notes on security paper and the ink manufactured in India. He motivated RBI officials to compel industrialists to bring technology from foreign country and finance is not at all a problem but the unit should be within India where the security paper and ink used must be manufactured in India.
