Rajni Ranjan Rashmi, additional secretary, Minister of Commerce and Industries inaugurated IndiaPack 2015 (October 8-11, 2015) at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. IndiaPack 2015, is an initiative of Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, currently celebrating its golden Jubilee year.

Delivering the keynote address at the inauguration, Rashmi said, “The world packaging market today is in the range of 727 billion and it’s growing at the rate of four to five percent but as the size of the Indian packaging industry is about three to four percent of the world market its growing at almost 10 percent. He further said that in the new foreign trade policy, the quality of packaging is one of the focal areas of concern for the ministry and there are several incentives which are available for the packaging, the quality of packaging and the quality of exports.

Dr NC Saha, director, Indian Institute of Packaging added, “IndiaPack has grown as a brand to be reckoned with Indian Packaging Industry and world over, after the successes of previous editions. Over 300 exhibitors from over 30 countries showcasing state-of-art packaging machinery, materials, services and packaging solutions to the brand owners and converters.”
