HP Inc. announced that HP Indigo has been selected for a third consecutive time to print Being Nobel, a book about the inspirational lives of Nobel Peace Laureates. The book was presented to each honoree and youth delegates during the 15th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates event this year in Barcelona, Spain (November 13-15, 2015).

Being Nobel was written by author Livia Malcangio and printed in Germany by Elanders, which selected the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to bring Malcangio’s beautiful story to life because of its ability to produce photographic prints in vibrant detail and advanced image quality in a very short turnaround time.

An Italian journalist and human rights activist, Malcangio has worked for the Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace since 2001. “Being Nobel allows me to share my passion about inspiring stories of incredible humanitarians I had the chance to work with”, shared Malcangio. “The book focuses on the importance of changing the way that history is taught, learned and understood by youths around the world and the significance of conceptualising history through peace rather than war,” concluded the author.

With more than 170 images, illustrations and maps, the book details the courageous stories of recent Nobel Peace Prize winners – from Mikhail Gorbachev and Desmond Tutu to the Dalai Lama and 18 year old Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Laureate in history, and others. The book is meticulously arranged continent by continent, with vivid photographs and illustrations. Each chapter carefully integrates stories of those who by accident or design, shaped the world history of the last 60 years.

“Each year we face major time constraints when it comes to printing the book, as the honorees are announced so close to the Summit,” said Ashley Woods, print production manager. “With such short turnaround and inevitable last minute changes taking place including the need to personalise each copy, the choice of using Indigo technology gave me total peace of mind,” concluded Ashley.
