IPAMA hosting the 11th edition of the expo independently

Nothing doubtful about Printpack-India to be reincarnated into a new avatar in its 11th edition as the expo has set its stage at a new venue where both exhibitors and visitors could embark upon fresh business aspects ever presented by the Indian Printing, Packaging and Machinery Manufactures’ Association (IPAMA). To be held from February 23-28 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Printpack-India 2013 will be a panoramic showcase of technologies and gizmos to promote the vibrant ‘brand India’ image. Print & Publishing meets up with KS KHURANA, president and TILAK RAJ MAHAJAN, v.p. (north), IPAMA to find out more about the preparations etc.
Indian Printing, Packaging and Machinery Manufactures’ Association (IPAMA), which had earlier been associated with India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in organising Printpack-India expos, is now independent to execute the show at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. “The new venue in Greater Noida is a state-of-the-art facility designed in a world-class standard,” remarked KS Khurana, president, IPAMA. He added that the exhibition floor will be stretched over around 15,000-20,000 sq m, out of which 3,000 sq m has instantly been booked by 25 exhibitors as on date and the total number of exhibitors is expected to exceed 400.

Nothing remoteness

Many might have raised their eyebrows to the fact that the new Printpack-India venue is quite remote from the city of Delhi. In this respect, IPAMA has set up an exhibition committee comprising seven members for solutions/measures to any difficulties. It is indeed a big challenge for IPAMA to attract visitors to the new, far-off venue. “We are quite sure about our ambitious programme, on which we plan to invest Rs 20 lakh to sort out any travel and transport problem for commuters and exhibitors,” said Tilak Raj Mahajan, vice president (north), IPAMA.

Easiest mode of transport for visitors travelling from Delhi would be Metro Rail which connects directly to Noida City Centre wherefrom they could easily catch the expo shuttle bus service which would ply throughout the day in a frequency of every 5-10 minutes. “We have introduced online visitor registration facility through which those pre-registered individuals will be issued Metro Rail passes and complementary travel in shuttle bus apart from entry to the expo on nominal charge,” affirmed Tilak Raj.

Discount benefits

Tilak Raj Mahajan, vice president (North) and KS Khurana, president, IPAMAThose exhibitors who have already been IPAMA members have reasons of rejoice at Printpack-India 2013 as they will get discounted rates from 5-15 percent depending on their membership tenure with the association.

Promotions around

IPAMA has set promotion plans for Printpack-India 2013 to be kicked off in select Indian cities to give the industry people a concrete pre-requisite of this biggest printing and allied machinery expo of Asia (except China). “We are carrying out a series of roadshows in major cities including Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai,” asserted KS Khurana adding that the promotion feats may also take place in some overseas destinations like Sri Lanka and Dubai.

Overseas players

Globally acclaimed Printpack-India has horde of regular players from overseas countries who really make the expo truly international. The countries wherefrom a number of distinguished exhibitors would rush in will include the USA, Japan, Germany, Italy, China and Korea, under their respective associations, which are really much-admired in the industry. “One of the significant benefits of Printpack-India to overseas visitors is that the expo gives them a peerless opportunity to access whole range of India-made good quality machineries at attractive prices,” said Tilak Raj adding that the Indian manufacturers have upgraded their products, close to the international standards.

Joint venture platform

Sharp growth in the Indian printing industry over the last few years has pulled the attentions of several overseas firms who wish to set their feet on the soil of the subcontinent by tying-up with the local associates. In this context, Bernhard Schreier, drupa president and chairman of Heidelberg in his speech on ‘India Day’ organised on the sidelines of drupa 2012 held recently in Dusseldorf stated that Indian printing industry will gain a definite big status by the year 2015.

A unique eminence of Printpack-India 2013 is that the expo dates are such when there would be hardly any other trade exhibition all across the globe coinciding with it. This would be an added advantage of the expo to attract both domestic and international exhibitors and visitors equally.
