Nova Publications goes creative with Grafica’s cylinder press

The growing importance of screen printing process for value addition on offset printed jobs such as books has been reaffirmed with investment by Nova Publications in advanced screen printing technology. In spite of huge offset printing facility, including two eight colour machines, the company took a judicious step by purchasing Grafica’s cylinder press to explore all the possibilities of UV special effects.

The major printing unit of Jalandhar-based Evergreen Publications Group, Nova Publications has now been successfully exploiting Grafica’s cylinder press with inline UV to extensively offer value added teaching aids and wide range of children’s books. Their state-of-the-art complete in-house screen printing unit also houses screen making set up supplied by Grafica which includes fabric stretching unit, emulsion coater, screen exposing and screen drying unit, washing booth and squeegee sharpener.

“Having seen DMI’s marvelous screen printed samples at Grafica’s stall in an exhibition in New Delhi, we tried to understand how UV special effects can be applied on offset printed job such as books. Soon we realized that there is tremendous scope to apply such special effects creatively on children’s books so that it becomes unique and more attractive to kids.
