The packaging major with factories in Faridabad and Bangalore, Sai Packaging has been accorded the BRC Global Standards Certification for Packaging. The certification, in ‘A’ grade category – the highest possible standard, has been conferred on their Faridabad plant after an extensive audit by Intertek Moody International Certification.

The BRC Global Standards are a leading global safety and quality certification programme, used throughout the world by over 17,000 certificated suppliers in 90 countries through a network of over 80 accredited and BRC recognised Certification Bodies. The BRC Global Standards are widely used by suppliers and global retailers. They facilitate standardization of quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations, along with helping provide protection to the consumer.

According to Priyata Raghavan, director, Sai Packaging, “As far as the paperboard converting industry is concerned, the BRC standard is very relevant to manufacturers like us producing packaging materials for food and consumer products. The standard is designed to assist packaging manufacturers and converters to adopt sound manufacturing practices and robust quality management systems to develop and manufacture safe, legal packaging materials meeting their customer’s quality requirements. The standard enables us to ensure the highest levels of safety in the manufacture of all packaging as demanded to day not only by export clients, but also responsible Indian clients”.

“The new facility at Faridabad has been designed keeping in mind the exacting requirement of this standard. It took us almost six months of hard work to meet the stringent audit requirements and we are delighted by the outcome, which is a vindication of Sai’s own internal quality standards,” she added. Sai Packaging is one of the majors in packaging and label solutions for the AlcoBev, food and pharma industries with a pan India presence. Sai is an early adopter of world-class technology and the second corporate in India to be awarded the prestigious UGRA certification for colour consistency.
