AIFMP president visits chennai

The president of All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), Govind Bhargava was in the city on March 06 to attend student-related events at an Engineering College and Institute of Printing Technology. Addressing as the chief guest at both the places, he briefed the students about the activities of the AIFMP, and called the institutions to take the students for the upcoming PAMEX show in Delhi November this year.

First, at the College of Engineering, Anna University, Department of Printing Technology, Bhargava inaugurated the Annual All India Printing Engineering Students Symposium IMPRINT, organised by the Society of Printing Engineers. It was a two-day symposium comprising of various competitions to hone the skills of students in presentations, designing, debates, etc. The theme this year was ‘Print On demand’.

Dr S Sivanesan, registrar, Anna University presided over the inaugural function. AMSG Ashokan, managing director, Arasan Group of Industries was the chief guest for valedictory next evening. Dr M Sekar, dean, College of Engineering presided over the function.

Jung Drucker 2013

Along with MPLA, IPT organised a farewell function for the third year students. On the occasion, at the instance of AIFMP president, the young blood coming into the industry was called as ‘Jung Drucker 2013’ (meaning Young Printer in German language). The office bearers of MPLA and representatives from The Printing Technologists Forum were present at Anna University and IPT to encourage the students. The HOD Printing at the University and the Principal at the IPT briefed the AIFMP president about the courses . He was taken round the facilities at both the places.

Homage to MG Ganapathy

MG Ganapathy, fondly known as MG to the team Technova and the entire printing fraternity, passed away in Chennai in February 2013. He was 63 years and is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law and a grandchild. MG was associated with Technova since last 31 years and has immensely contributed to the growth of the company. He last worked with Technova as branch manager. MG was recognized by the MPLA and honored with lifetime achievement award in 2012.

A condolence meeting was organised by The Printing Technologists Forum in March to pay homage to Ganapathy. On the occasion, CG Ramakrishnan, executive director & COO, Technova from Mumbai came to pay homage. Sekar, the company’s branch manager, Chennai (for South India) coordinated the programme. The Technova dealers and users were also present in good number. Let the good soul rest in peace!
