Masterwork’s MK420Q Mini – now available in India

Europe saw the launch of one of Masterwork’s leading new products the MK420Q MINI Inspection machine at IPEX. This high speed, precision carton inspection machine can provide customers with 100 percent continuous inspection 24 hours a day. This state-of-the-art machine is now available to the Indian market through Manugraph India Ltd, distributor of Masterwork in India.

Handling stock from 90 gsm to 650 gsm and from 70×70 mm to 420×350 mm in size, the MK420Q Mini offers a maximum speed of 300 m/min making it one of the most efficient off-line inspection systems in the market. The system can identify a huge selection of printing defects & colour variations and even irregularities in foil patterns due to its use of high resolution CCD cameras. These cameras allow the detection of defects down to 0.2 x 0.2 mm, which is remarkable. This enables even minute deviations from the approved standards to be identified immediately, with sub-standard sheets automatically rejected during the inspection process.

Masterwork’s patented light source filters reflect light from the sheets to ensure an extremely clear image on the CCD camera. The light source can be adjusted precisely to suit the printing process used for a particular job, such as UV Varnish, laser or holographic foil stamping. The MK420Q MINI also allows the user to store data and images of defects for subsequent analysis as well as for repeat orders which sets within seconds, thus saving on make-ready time. Monitoring too is easy and can be set for individual jobs, different shifts or even specific periods of operation. Additionally, data can easily be provided to customers to enable them to carry out their own analysis. Due to its less overall make-ready time, this machine gives the added advantage of producing more jobs at a stretch, thus saving time and manpower while increasing bottom line.
