Xerox showcased a portfolio of digital printing equipments at PrintExpo, Chennai held from April 18-20, 2014. The focus was on increase in speed, vibrant colours, streamlining production and improved image quality. Here, Pankaj Kalra (PK), associate director and head, Production System Group (PSG), Xerox India shares more with D Ramalingam (DR) from Print & Publishing.

Pankaj KalraDR: In the last PrintExpo you introduced Color J75, C75 and 550/560 printer models. How have they performed?

PK: All of them have been very successful. We are showcasing them again this time. J75 is certified by Fogra. It produces high value jobs and has highly satisfied customers. C75 has enabled varied print speeds while Color 550/560 printers have given the convenience of replaceable units.

DR: Any new additions?

PK: Yes, we are showcasing our wide format IJP2000 Media which offers high quality paper, 75 gsm photo paper, 170 gsm back-lit film, matt film and matt paper. Also showcased is Xerox wide format 6705 system equipped with a colour scanner with high quality input and output at 600 x 600 dpi. It is also suitable for security print jobs.

DR: Can you enlighten us on Color 550/560 printer and Phaser 7800 systems showcased last time; is there any upgradation?

PK: The 560 has been upgraded to 570 but both versions are available. The 560 printer has a speed upto 60 ppm colour and 65 ppm monochrome while 570 printer has a speed upto 70 ppm colour and 75 ppm monochrome. Resolution for both the printers has been maintained at 2400 x 2400 dpi. While, 7800 series is a multifunctional system, which gives a lot of solutions including that for security segment. Its operations vary from simple copying to production of direct mail pieces, books, manuals, customized marketing collaterals, professional digital books and photo books.
