The Advertising Production Club of New York hosted their largest event in recent memory, featuring a keynote speaker and a panel discussion on 3D and Enhanced Printing at Urban Studios/CVLT Productions in Manhattan. With over 76 years of providing a forum for continuing education, professional development and industry networking for its members, the APC is the New York metro area’s premier member-supported trade association for the graphic communications industry community. Joni Adams, senior print producer at Droga 5 gave the keynote presentation on how 3D and enhanced printing is exciting advertisers and consumers alike, with real world case studies on how their agency uses 3D and enhanced printing.

Panelists Mike Pacheco of the New Lab, Lex Curtis a 3D industrial designer, John Kerby of Harry Shaw Model Makers, and Barry Walsh, Business Development Manager at Scodix Inc., rounded out the panel adding greatly to the topical discussion and responding to questions.

Barry Walsh, business development manager for Scodix said, “Everyone is excited about 3D and enhanced printing. What they can be designing and selling today, is everyday printed products, which can then be digitally enhanced with Scodix to give a 3D sculptured and enhanced effect. Since each sheet is RIP’ed and printed as its own job, it can be personalised right down to a unit of one, at up to 1,250 sheets an hour. Scodix is a great way for print providers and designers to offer practical 3D and enhanced printing, today.”
