There is an obvious trend of digital printing towards diverse and growing requirements for the light- and mid-production printing areas. With shrinking print runs, digital printing has made inroads into the publishing segment. Here’s more on why digital printing is beneficial for publishing industry.

Why Print-on-demand in publishing?

Printing-on-demand reduces waste and costs for warehouse and manpower, as well as improves turnaround times by using the advantages of digital printing, such as inline finishing with mixed media functions. Customers require their printed products within a short period of time. Deadlines are becoming tighter for print applications. The trend towards personalised books is growing. And, customizing print products with names or individual messages can be easily done with digital printing.

Increased document complexity…
no issues with Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS 1250

Customers are looking for products that will make their lives easier and increase their profit. Shrinking margins and rising expectations for print products are no problem with the bizhub PRESS 1250 series, which offers professional print products at an affordable price. The cost of colour prints is decreasing, which increases the demand for colour printed pages in documents. Utilizing the post-inserter option as well as the Konica Minolta application means this is no longer a challenge for customers.

Superb media handling capability…

When investigating a highvolume printing solution, media handling becomes a critical factor in the decision-making process. A fast, capable print engine needs to be matched by complementary considerations such as flexible media support, accurate paper feeding and limited operator intervention. The bizhub PRESS 1250 series offers impressive solutions for all the business requirements a high volume user could ask for, starting with a huge paper capacity of 18,000 sheets, ability to use flexible paper formats including coated media from up to eleven trays, media weights up to 350 gsm – all managed by a powerful intelligent media catalogue.

In many high-volume applications like book printing, each printed sheet is unique and critical, so if, for example, there is a feed or multi-feed this can create many problems. The bizhub PRESS 1250 series provides many cutting-edge technologies that are designed to find solutions to potential production issues, and ultrasonic sensors are used in the paper feed unit to detect any possible multi-feed errors from all trays. If a misfeed or blank is detected, printing is automatically suspended.

Enhanced print quality…

What’s more? bizhub PRESS 1250 series uses Simitri HD toner which has been developed to not only give excellent image quality results, but ensures that one can take the printed sheet and create the finished product. The bizhub PRESS 1250 series uses the next generation of proven imaging technology giving razor-sharp text reproduction right down to the smallest font sizes. Thus even the small print on books can now be read conveniently.
