High time for confidence building!
It’s a time that Indian printing industry has confidence in its own activities. The consumption of printed products in India is very high, volumes are not a problem (barring commercial jobs) here, owing to growing population and better purchasing power of middle-class society. Statistics indicate that in developed countries, the printing industry is shrinking, but not precisely in India.
Foreign companies like Bookazine are coming into India. Bookazine plans to not only import physical books to India but also export Indian books overseas, which can find their place worldover. Thus, the publishing industry is set to grow in India. And this is just one instance; there are many more foreign players who are eyeing India for its huge potential.
Though some of the printers are doing extraordinary work in terms of quality, a majority of printers are still struggling with quality vs cost issue. When we have to compare with globally produced print jobs, quality parameters have to be definitely kept in mind accordingly. We need to accept the possibility of further improvement in all our print jobs right from modest business cards to catalogues; school report cards to books; menu cards to New Year cards, etc.

We need to patronise our industry and give a boost to ‘Make in India’ campaign of the central government. Besides, for developing countries, economical machines are in great demand to have a quick return on investment. In such a scenario, Indian machines have proved to be a boon and are efficiently running in many countries. Let us all come forward and patronise our indigenously produced machines.
