Mecca for Indian printing industry is here!

All eyes are set on the upcoming Printpack India 2015 show, which is going to attract around 400 exhibitors (occupying from 6 sq m to 550 sq m) spread over an approx net area of 17,000 sq m.

There’s going to be an interesting mix of exhibitors from all segments of printing. Perhaps one of the most growing areas is the post press and packaging equipment segment which is attracting 40 percent exhibitors. Another segment which is very important for the industry is consumables which would be around 20 percent. While press segment will see a contingent of 10 percent. Both software and digital equipment manufacturers would each see five percent of the total exhibitors. The pre-press segment will be represented by five percent of the total exhibitors and five percent being miscellaneous exhibitors like trade press and associations, besides 10 percent of overseas exhibitors.

Seeing the exhibitors’ profile, one can clearly see that the digital printing has opened up new avenues for post press segment. Many small and economical machines like visiting cards slitters, mini three-knife trimmers, etc are now indigenously made to cater to the growing needs of quick print shops.

But, it is really surprising to see that inspite of India being rich in wellqualified IT professionals, there are very few exhibitors from the software segment. Another interesting fact one can see is that many small domestic players are offering an array of products, even though they do not manufacture them. They offer these machines from fellow manufacturers with their tag and place them on their portfolio. Well, this is another thing that also happens in India!

Nevertheless, Printpack India is the place to be…to abreast with the latest and to give a boost to ‘Make in India’ brands as well. In this issue, we bring a sneak peek into what to expect at Printpack India. Also, since Hunkeler innovationdays in Switzerland is slated this month, we have included a brief about that in this issue. One can definitely benefit from these innovations.

See you all at these two wonderful shows!
