Chennai-based Navaneetham Enterprises, a complete print house, added a Heidelberg Speedmaster SX 74, upgrading its present state-of-the-art infrastructure of press, prepress and postpress equipment. The move is in line with the company’s initiatives to compete in the global markets and fulfil the exacting print quality bars set by an elite buyer base.

The Heidelberg Speedmaster SX-74 combines the path-breaking technology of the Speedmaster-XL class with the tried-and-tested SM platform. Designed for ergonomic operations, the press flaunts shorter make-ready and throughput times, with production speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour.

“We need best-in-class equipment to stay on top of our game. Heidelberg is our trusted partner and a world-class brand. The Speedmaster SX 74 offers compelling value proposition, especially for short job runs,” states K Srinivasan, Proprietor of Navaneetham Enterprises.

Navaneetham Enterprises specializes in commercial printing, producing annual reports, booklets, brochures, calendars, folders, greeting cards, leaflets, manuals, paper inserts, posters and pop items, including danglers, and wobblers. The print house serves a prestigious client base that includes HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Flextronics India, and Apollo Hospitals to name a few.

“The key objective is to position our business for industry-leading growth and continuous renewal to deliver excellence and drive innovation across our blue-chip client base. The critical nature of our production needs mandate highly automated operations, quick job changes, and reduced setup times. The SX-74 fits the bill neatly,” adds Srinivasan.

Heidelberg’s Intellistart feature incorporated in the SX-74 – facilitates faster job changes and high level of automation. Even as the current job is running on the SX-74, the next job can be prepared, thanks to the Intellistart, which compares the current press status with parameters for the new job.

Based on the comparison, Intellistart generates steps required to change jobs intelligently and dynamically, providing schedulable setup times and constant time savings with each job change. About 70% reduction in the operating steps to be carried out on the control station by the press operator indicates a high degree of automation.

An in-built “Color Fast Solution” in the Speedmaster SX 74 speeds up the inking unit’s response by 50 to 70 percent, leading to lesser wastage and higher productivity. As we progress through our chosen path and priorities, we continue to rely on Heidelberg for technology insights and support,” concludes Srinivasan.
