Media Carnival 2018

Over 100 students from the Diploma and Engineering colleges all over India participated in Media Carnival 2018(6th National Level Intercollegiate Print and Electronic Media Technical Festival), organised by Department of Printing & Media Engineer-ing, Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, in association with Manipal Technologies Ltd (MTL).

The objective of the program is to promote printing technology, to provide a platform to showcase student talent and to build confidence in the mind of budding printing technologists that they may perform well in their profession.

Vilas Nayak, Chairman & MD, Hanuman Group of Concerns and Spandana TV Channel, was the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, he stressed the importance of co-curricular activities in career progression of students. Satishchandra PMS Product Manager, MTL, who was the guest of honour, mentioned about the progress of 3D from 3D max to latest MAYA software. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Somashekar Bhat, Associate Director (Development), MIT; Prof. (Dr.) Amrutharaj H. Krishnan; Nagaraj Ka-math, Convener; Ramnath Shenoy, Co-convener; to name a few.

As many as 11 competitions were conducted separately for Diploma and Engineering students. PVG’s College of Engineering & Technology, Pune bagged Dr TMA Pai Memorial Shield for overall Champion in the Engineering category while Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakashi (AGPC) and Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts (SI-GA) shared Prof PS Shivaram Memorial Shield for overall Champion.
