The 2011 Printing South China / Sino-Label / Sino-Pack successfully concluded at China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex (Area A), Guangzhou, PR China on March 11, 2011, garnering international attention with presence of 1,000 renowned local and overseas exhibitors, attracting 47,312 professional visitors, and receiving tremendous support from 90 printing and packaging industry associations from different countries/regions as well as the provinces of China. The show also witnessed good number of Indian visitors who were looking for economical versions of machines as compared to expensive ones from Europe, US and Japan. Such success has demonstrated the leadership and influence of the event within the printing and packaging industry of the whole China. Accelerating industry advancements The three-day show, comprising the 18th South China International Exhibition on Printing Industry (the 18th Printing South China), the 2011 China International Exhibition on Label Printing Technology (Sino-Label 2011), the 18th China International Exhibition on Packaging Machinery & Materials (Sino-Pack 2011) and the 15th China International Exhibition on Brewery, Beverage & Liquid Packaging (China Drinktec 2011), drew its curtain with spiral of rising popularity and onsite transaction. The show attracted world’s renowned printing and label exhibiting companies form fourteen countires and regions, including: Hans-Gronhi, Crons, Shanghai Clarity, Lucky Film, Zhongde Group, Fangbang, Flexco, Chengming, Ruian Dapeng, Donghang, Aoke, Tiancen, Wenzhou Zenbo, Huayao, Ruiguang, Jingbao, Juisun Screen Printing, Taiso, Ditian, Shenzhen Jin-based, Datacard, Anser, Hengming, Lintec (Japan), Labelmen (Taiwan), ETI, Avery Dennison, Dowell, Haotian, ZhongTian, Nickel, WeiGang, Brotech, Sanki, Tianjin Zhongtian Shentong Group, Label Long, ZhongShan Fuzhou, Moma, Colamark, LECCO, Top Label, Soontomax, Rotary, Unilux, Kloeckner Pentaplast, etc. They gathered to display a wide-ranging of new and high-quality products, technologies, all kinds of solutions and management systems that cover pre/post-press, inkjet, offset, flexo, gravure and label printing, printing ink as well as consumables. Major display profiles include: binding and finishing machines, automatic blocking machines and end paper pasting, shrink wrapping machines, wire stitchers, and spares for all kind of machines. Automatic paper-bag making machines were also among star attractions.

Onsite sales outperformance gained exhibitors’ satisfaction! In succession to the fabulous onsite performance in 2008, Sanki Machinery Co Ltd joined Sino-Label 2011 again this year as an independent corporation. Giving high regards for the show, Tomonori Ishikawa of the company stated, “Compare with other similar exhibitions, Sino-Label enables us to meet more buyers. This is a very ideal marketing platform for us in China. We have sold four machines at a total transaction rate of 15 million RMB.”

Jerry Xu, sales & marketing manager of Kloeckner Pentaplast – a leading producer of strong shrinkable rate PVC environment-friendly materials, who entered China market since 2006 – claimed that, the main reason they participated in the show is due to the large development potential of PVC environmental-friendly materials in China’s beverage market. “Environment-friendly materials have been broadly promoted and applied in China, specially in the 12th Five-Year Plan, given Printing South China a better worth-of-mouth within the industry,” he conveyed.

“We achieve a certain amount of business deal at the show every year, and this is why we continue to expand our exhibiting area,” said the representative of Wanjie Printing Machinery Co Ltd, “In general, we saw more visitors this year and most of them showed interest to our products, and there were already five to six potential customers on the first day of the show.”

As per Fiona Huang, sales supervisor of Flexco Machinery & Graphic Equipment (GZ) Co Ltd who specializes in packaging & printing for food & beverage, “Most of the loyal customers we invited came along with other clients from the industry, and that they have become our potential customers too. This year was our first-time participation in the show and result is very satisfactory.” For Jiangsu Fangbang Printing Machinery, corporate brand building was the main objective of participating in Printing South China. Ping Zhang, sales vice president of the company claimed that visitors of Printing South China were more professional.

Peter Si from Wuhu Xinping Package Industry Co highly praised China Drinktec, “The quality of buyers was better than last year. Many of them were from Pearl River Delta Region. I hope China Drinktec can maintain its excellence under today’s keen competition.” Li-qun Tang, general manager of Toplabel Material Tech Co Ltd was satisfied with the number of visitors that they met a lot of potential customers. Tang trusted a number of purchase orders will be confirmed through the participation this time. Lintec (Tianjin) Industry Co Ltd, a renowned label printer supplier, also sold two sets of machine at the show.

Kaleidoscopic concurrent events turned into cluster spot! Debut of ‘the second China Rotogravure Premium Competition Winning Pieces Display Zone’ drew most of the visitors’ awareness with its display of the winning masterpieces that demonstrated the finest rotogravure craftsmanship in China, in which cigarette packing captured most of the visitors’ attention from the display. “The 2nd China Rotogravure Premium Competition epitomized the highest quality, sophisticated craftsmanship and technology of rotogravure printing industry in recent years. Where cigarette packing in China is always an industry with the highest standard and hardware requirement, and the national finest cigarette packing winning pieces are converged and displayed here as our highlight to grab most visitors’ attention,” said Yun Zhang, supervisor of the activity co-organizer, Printing Technology Association of China – Rotogravure Committee.

‘Inkjet Printing Supplier Seminar’ jointly organized by China Academy of Printing Science & Technology and KeyinPrint China gathered full house of printers around a large round-table. Expressing satisfaction with the result of the seminar, Lu Si, exhibition project manager of the co-organizer mentioned, “Success of the show is derived from the economic recovery in China as well as high industry’s recognition of the exhibition in China.”

Marking participation of 100 high-end packaging products enterprises from China, elitist designers to share their concept on green packaging, the ‘Premium Packaging Showcase’ also received tremendous response from visitors.

‘Business Matching’ was another highlight of Sino-Pack / China Drinktec 2011, which was deemed to serve as a bridge to link both buyers and exhibitors for an in-depth interaction. Jointly organized with food.hc360.com and 21 food.com, the organizers remarked that more than a hundred of food and beverage manufacturers from all over China joined that twenty million dollars’ business deal were likely to achieve.

To make the show so successful, there was extensive support from trade associations and industry players. The organizer demonstrated their enthusiastic welcome to delegations formed by forty trade associations and fifty enterprises from overseas countries such as India, Russia, Vietnam, etc and China inland, representing various segments of the industry including printing, packaging, anti-counterfeit, cosmetic, daily chemicals, electronic goods, food & beverage, logistics, pharmaceutical as well as plastics & rubber. Local and international trade associations, including Korea Packaging Machinery Association (KPMA), Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) of the United Kingdom, Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) of the United States, Chinese Taipei Packaging Association and China Plastics Industry Association organized pavilions. The show also gained enthusiastic participations from Hong Kong Packaging Professionalism Association, Graphic Arts Association of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Corrugated Paper Manufacturers’ Association, J&K Offset Printers Association and Screen Printing & Graphics Association of India (SGAI), etc.
