A walk down the roads of Ahemdabad city in search of a prominent photocopy shop for a bulk of printing jobs will come to a halt right in front of Roopali Copiers. One can find this photocopy corner always packed with customers from different walks of life. In a recent past, Jyaneswar Laishram of Print & Publishing stumbled upon this cosy printing shop to have a chat with its proprietor Ashish Vagheda. Constant buzz at the cash counter of Roopali Copiers shows that this photocopy shop is all time busy to serve its customers. Located at the strategic Town Hall Junction of Ahemdabad city, this photocopy centre has a huge machine portfolio to deliver a varied range of multi-colour copies, ammonia prints, laminations, among others. “We unveiled our business in a very small scale by adopting just one Magic black & white photocopier around five years ago,” recalls Ashish Vagheda.

In tune of the changes in trends and technologies sweeping across the market, Roopali Copiers added three more Magic photocopy machines in their portfolio. “But we dumped all the machines soon after our product line was pumped up with Xerox Docucolor 12, Canon 1180, Canon NP 6650, Canon imageRunner, Oce TDS 300 and Canon Prograph,” asserts Ashish. The customers turning up at the company are predominantly consisted of the people from jewellery and architectural segments.

“We also deliver prints to a good number of clients in other industrial clusters, such as readymade garment companies, textile designers and others like educational institutes,” mentions Ashish adding that the company can deliver more than 3,000 copies per day. In his view to the current scenario of photocopy market in Ahemdabad, Ashish exclaims that demands keep increasing but the net profit margins are quite low due to the steep hike in prices of raw materials in recent past.
