Sixth National Awards for Excellence in Printing by AIFMP

Three new ‘export’ categories, eminent personalities, luxurious venue, the NAEP goodwill…the 6th National Awards for Excellence in Printing

Organized by All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), the 6th National Awards for Excellence in Printing (NAEP) will be held on August 13, 2011 at the Leela Palace, Bengaluru. After travelling a whole circle from New Delhi in 1999, to Chennai in 2003, to Mumbai in 2005, to Kolkata in 2008 and back to New Delhi in 2010, the NAEP 2011 decided to bring in fresh flavour and anchor itself in the country’s garden city and IT capital – Bengaluru.

The award will attract printing and packaging experts from across the length and breadth of the country. However, what will add prestige to this award is the sparing of no effort in casting the net deep and wide to unearth the industry’s finest. So, whether it is a publication house with ace quality exhibits or a medium-sized printer with mind-boggling printing ideas, anyone who showcases the best that the industry has to offer stands an equal chance.

The categories include: Group offset (capacity small/medium/large ), screenprinting (letterheads, visiting cards, envelopes; greeting cards, postcards, menu cards; posters, stickers, banners, labels); Flexography (stickers, labels; packaging cartons; polybags, wrappers, shrink sleeves; jobs of any other format/type); small offset (special category from small offset printers size upto 15”x20” – postcards, stickers, labels; booklets, brochure, catalogues; point of sale material; coupons, scratch tickets, cheques; jobs of any other format/type); digital printing (catalogues, brochures, booklets; greetings, poster menu cards; point of sale materials; variable data printing – multicolour; multicolour inkjet printing; stickers and labels). In group offset category, there will be 25 sub-categories – social stationery, menu cards, catalogues, brochures, annual reports, business magazines, school/college magazines, calendars (wall/table), posters, point of sales (POP),fine art (any format), books – soft/hard bound, diaries pictorial/others, labels, packaging – cartons duple/FBB, packaging – corrugated, packaging – cartons metalized (Metpet), packaging – plastic (PP/PVC/PET), innovation – printing/packaging, best foil stamped/embossed job, paper bags, catch cover, wrapper, CD cover (audio-video), security printing (stamps, cheques, scratch cards, credit cards), newspaper and best processed job.

Besides, there will be special awards like Welbound Best Bound Book, Sudhir Gupta Award for best printing on indigenous paper; SS Batra Award for best poster of the year. Also, there will be special jury awards like National Star Awards, Best Printer for the year 2011, Best Innovative Package 2011, Best Digital Print 2011 and Best Exports Award 2011.

Jobs printed between April 2010 and March 31, 2011 will qualify for entry. The last date of entry submission is May 15, 2011 and entries can be sent to AIFMP, 605, Madhuban, 55, Nehru Place, New Delhi – 110019 or Karnataka State Printers Association, 84/1, 6th Cross, 4th Main, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru – 560018,Karnataka, India.
