One of the world leaders in digital imaging technology, Canon India announced the release of the next generation Océ Arizona 360 GT wide format UV cured flatbed printer, offering high production speeds and support for white ink printing. The new printer made its debut at the ‘India Sign + Digital’ (ISD’11) Expo in New Delhi.

Using UV curable inks and Océ VarioDot imaging technology to deliver near-photographic image quality with sharpness only before seen at resolutions of 1,440 dpi or higher, the Océ Arizona 360 GT can print on a wide variety of rigid substrates and offers printing onto flexible roll media via the roll media option. It is based on the exceptional image quality combined with reliability, quick return on investment and first class support. The additional benefit to the customers is very low ink consumption, as low as 50 percent less than six-colour fixed drop systems. The system uses Lenticular printing and printing on variety of rigid and flexible media. This is a special feature that will be the future for the retail industry and particularly for companies that deal in shop displays, wall murals, posters, backlit displays, hoardings, POP, signages, bus shelters, packaging, sales promotional material and corporate gifts as well.

The wide-format graphics industry has been transformed through the emergence over the past dozen years of digital display printing technology. The technology has evolved over the years and enables to meet retail requirements as well as architects & builders, professional photographers, print service providers, signage makers and construction companies.

As per Alok Bharadwaj, senior vice president, Canon India, “This is the new age. It heralds the coming up of new innovative technologies that will shape the future of the printing industry in times to come. Digital technologies have made possible the production of short-run print jobs at the economies of scale that screen printing technology cannot achieve.” He further stated that variety of applications available through this true flatbed UV printing technology opens up newer avenues of innovation in display graphics, and added, “As Canon took the business of sales, distribution and services for Oce products in Jan 2011, we have received very encouraging response from the market. Customers are asking us to provide complete prepositions; Oce products are highly functional and strong on technology. We are now geared up to build customer base for wide format graphics UV flatbed applications. Through this exhibition we are presenting Arizona range and confident to create customer base of 12 by end of the year 2012.”
