According to a report by FICCI and Tata Strategic Management Group (TSMG) on the packaging industry of India, the sector is expected to reach $73 billion by 2020 from the current $32 billion. The overall growth is anticipated to attain 18 percent annual growth rate, with the flexible packaging and rigid packaging expected to grow annually at 25 percent and 15 percent respectively.
Mr Muralidhar feels that the packaging market is expanding in smaller cities across the country, with an expectation to gain high growth in near future.
