Muller Martini unveils digital book production

Muller Martini Marketing AG, Switzerland, unveiled products from its latest OnDemand Solutions Division in Chennai on August 21. Cenk Guerpinar, sales manager of the company had flown in specially to make a multimedia presentation to an invited audience at the Multivista Global premises.

Presiding over the meeting, R Jayaraman, director, Multivista Global welcomed the gathering and hoped that his initiative to hold the presentation at his office to a group of interested persons would bring in awareness about the digital printing.

Guerpinar pointed out that cross media is the future. Digital book production is catching up and authors and readers are asking 1-10 copies. For a well finished book, finishing process is equally important to make a quality product. Here saw the Muller Martini an opportunity to use their post press knowhow. The specialized workflow produces in one operation from the roll of paper to the finished book.

Guerpinar informed that their SigmaLine is not only limited to just for print finishing, it is to be considered more as a total solution for digital book production. In the SigmaLine, the digital printing press fits seamlessly into the production process. The steps involved are: unwinding, digital printing, cross cutting, folding, gathering, buffing, perfect binding, cooling, trimming and delivery. The workflow systems Connex can sort the jobs in the production list of the SigmaControl in such a way that the line is used in the most efficient way possible. They have already collaborated with big wings like HP, Kodak, Oce, pioneer in digital printing systems.
