First edition of ALPS World of Labeling concludes successfully

Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS) successfully conducted the first edition of their World of labeling, ‘WoL’ on Going Digital-When & How? on August 10, 2018 at Mumbai, which was attended by more than 100 delegates.

The seminar was inaugurated by Gururaj Ballarwad-President, Arunesh Bansal-Hon. General Secretary, Ashish Gupta – Hon. Treasurer and Ajay Aggarwal-Vice President, ALPS and Sudhir Samant of Sudhir Samant & Associates. The keynote address was given by Gururaj.

The Seminar covered 5 sessions on the topic of “Going Digital-When & How? ”Vikram Saxena, G.M-Sales, Xeikon division addressed the myths circling around the adoption of digital technology over conventional. While, Ajay Rao Rane, AVP-Digital Printing Solutions, Domino India discussed on how to minimize the challenges faced by Digital Label Convertors.

Parag Agrawal, Product Manager-Specialty & Durables, Avery Dennison India shed information on What are the future trends in Digital Printing & drivers of its growth while Ranesh Bajaj, Director, Vinsak India Pvt. Ltd. presented his perspective on why Digital finishing plays a crucial role. Ashish Gupta, MD, Rational Business Corporation Pvt Ltd discussed the Challenges being faced by Indian label industry.

The most sought after part of the evening was ground breaking panel discussion on “Challenges in adoption of Digital technology for Indian Label companies.” The experts who took the audience on the roller coaster knowledge ride were Ajay Rao Rane-Domino India, Denver Annunication-Janus International, Ranesh Bajaj-Vinsak India Pvt Ltd, Tejas Tanna-Printmann Group and Vijay Pareek-Genius Flexo Machinery Pvt. Ltd.The session was moderated by Ajay Aggarwal, Syndicate Labels.

The panel addressed the burning issues of Evolution of Digital printing as a technology over the last few years and what are the experiences of the experts who have given this technology a fair chance, why Indian printers are reluctant to give chance to the technology while their western world brothers have accepted it with great enthusiasm and last but not the least why a printer should adopt digital technology and how much time it may take to reduce the cost of digital technology consumables in comparison to the conventional Flexo technology or is it just a mirage in desert.

The programme was moderated by Priyanka Rathi Verma, Executive Secretary and Head Marcom & PR-ALPS.
