MacDermid Graphics Solutions, a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of photopolymer plates and platemaking systems for the package printing industry, introduced its Roadshows 2019 in three thriving and strategic cities in India: Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi. The Roadshow traveled to each chosen city for one day bringing their customers and industry partners together to present the latest flexographic trends and technology.

The Indian flexo printing market is impressive as there is room for expansion with the new technologies we provide. MacDermid is excited to expand our footprint across the country. The Roadshows are an excellent opportunity for MacDermid and our partners to showcase the technology advancements in the industry and provide the necessary tools for trade shops and printers to improve print quality and efficiency,” said Melanie Galloway, Senior Vice President, MacDermid Graphics Solutions.

MacDermid is the only flexographic supplier who offers a full range of photopolymer plates including digital, analog, and liquid. What Melanie observed about the current Indian flexo and packaging market is that a majority of the market is analog, although quickly moving toward digital plate technology for higher quality print applications. “Customers express their interest in digital technology and want to understand what advancements are possible,” said Melanie. “One of our key areas of focus for the India market is MacDermid’s LAVA® thermal processing system, which is automated, quick and environmentally friendly.” MacDermid’s expertise in photopolymer plate technology and platemaking systems guarantees the print quality customers desire and delivers when they need it.

MacDermid entered the Indian market six years ago. Since then the company continues expanding its customer base through a strong network of channel partners. The company has three key distributors in India supplying their products across the length and breadth of the country. Kanan Graphics in Mumbai supplies the western region, Indo Pacific in Bengaluru for the south, and Supreme Marketing in New Delhi for the north.

At the Hyderabad Roadshow, MacDermid inked a partnership deal with DigiFlex, one of the leading suppliers of digital plates for narrow, mid, and wide web flexo machines. Digiflex also delivers high-quality analog flexo plates designed mainly for legacy jobs that include multiple plate materials, thicknesses, and replacement plates for negatives.

“The Indian flexo and packaging market is growing rapidly and will continue to gain momentum in the next five years. The Roadshows, along with our expanding network in the region, showcase our commitment to the market and support the work of our partners in the region,” said Rahul Dwivedi, Sales Head – South Asia Cluster, MacDermid Graphics Solutions. In this respect, Melanie stated that flexo industry technologies are evolving quickly. “We provide new plate technology, such as our recently launched LUX® ITP™ MELO for corrugated applications, and LUX ITP EPIC® for flexible packaging, and also work with our partners on game-changing advancements in screening, equipment, and software,” she added.

MacDermid’s collaboration with its partners led to successful Roadshows in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi. The presentations given by their partners including Sudhir Kumar, Tesa Tapes; Sachin Patil, Apex International; Nigel Walsh, GLUNZ & JENSEN; Sanjay Ghadge, iMS Global; Ganpathy Pillai, ESKO and others were essential to that success.Future Roadshows are on the horizon where MacDermid will continue to share innovative products for the flexo market.
