World Label Day celebrated with great fervour

Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS) celebrated ‘World Label Day’ on February 3, 2019 marked on January 13, 2019, the birth anniversary of ‘The Sticker Man,’ R. Stanton Avery. The sponsor of the programme was Avery Dennison.

The programme was inaugurated by Gururaj Ballarwad, President, ALPS; Arunesh Bansal, Hon General Secretary, ALPS; Ashish Gupta, Treasurer, ALPS; Dayakar Reddy, President, IPAMA: Iqbal Singh, Hon General Secretary, IPAMA; Raveendra Joshi, President, AIFMP; AK Jain, Chairman-Training, AIDC Technologies; Prabhakar, VP-South, AIDC Technologies and by Pankaj Bhardwaj, GM & Sr. Director, Label & Graphics Materials Group-South Asia, Avery Dennison India.

The day was celebrated by releasing the World Label Day poster by Gururaj Ballarwad and Pankaj Bhardwaj. Three technical sessions were also organized during the programme. Bhupinder Singh, Country Sales Manager, Avery Dennison delivered a lecture on Innovation in Label Industry. Parag Bagade, Head of Technical Marketing-South Asia Pacific & Sub Saharan Africa, Avery Dennison delivered a lecture on ‘Sustainability Initiatives in Label Industry.’

An expert session on ‘Brand Owner Perspective & Importance of Labeling’ was delivered by Packaging Technologist & Consultant Rahul Bhargava from Packaging Prescriptions. Gururaj Ballarwad, President-ALPS started the programme by welcoming all the guests and delegates. He also extended a special thank you note to all the supporting associations for their strength and support towards the event.

The celebration was attended by more than 150 delegates from across the label fraternity. The ‘World Label Day’ Celebrations will be done every year on January 13 across the globe.
