Continuing their efforts to educate printing technologies and processes, Gujarat Academy of Creative Studies (GACS) successfully organized their fifth workshop and industrial visits for designers and printers during September 10-12, 2011. On the occasion expert lectures were given by Vishal Ambasana on ‘Colour theory and Adobe Photoshop’, Pankaj Paun on ‘Design layout with Adobe InDesign’, Jagdish Sheth on ‘screen making techniques’.
Also, all participants visited to Rajkot-based Gujarat Grafik Pvt Ltd (GGPL) where they witnessed complete offset printing process starting from plate clamping, inking and dampening. Knowing importance of cutting, registration and creasing marks in design and printing, they also learned about how to register starting copies. At GGPL Dinesh Khambhayata – manager showed lots of different substrates printed by them. Besides, the participants also visited Photokina Chemicals (P) Ltd, Ahmedabad, where Jagdish Sheth explained screen printing process with demonstration on the latest screen making equipments.
