PVC-free graphic arts film now 33% thinner!
Innovia Films’ has extended its range of PVC-free films for graphic arts applications. These 60µm (230 gauge) films are now 33% thinner than their existing graphic films. To prove their high performance, Innovia approached an important player in the graphic industry to print their primary wall graphic for a major event last year – Labelexpo Europe. Partner Targi Poland the company contracted to build the stand agreed to apply the graphic, it was the first time they had worked with the substrate.
Innovia’s Rayoart BOPP graphic art films are a viable alternative to calendared PVC as they are ideal for indoor and short term outdoor applications as these UV stabilized products provide up to two years outdoor usage (based on QUV testing).
They can be printed by flexographic, screen, UV inkjet and low temperature Latex inkjet processes. Perfect for flat and simple curved graphic applications or pressure sensitive label and decal applications requiring extended outdoor usage.
Richard Southward, Global Product Manager, Innovia Films says, “These BOPP films show good compatibility across a range of adhesive systems and offer clean and simple removability after use. The printable surface offers multiple decoration options giving vibrant colours and images. Our stand graphic at Labelexpo 2020 was produced using a HP Latex 310 press – printed and applied as a single 1.37m x 4.80m sheet. Our BOPP films as self-adhesive constructions, using thick 140gsm lay-flat release liners, have been certified as PVC-free options for wide format HP Latex printing.”
