Drupa makes webTech venders ‘feel good’

In web tech segment, along with the world’s major technology providers, including Goss, KBA, manroland web systems, Mitsubishi, TKS, WIFAG, Muller Martini, Ferag, QI Press Controls, QuadTech, etc, Indian manufacturers – Grafitek International, Manugraph, TPH, Prakash Webtech, Shree Refrigerations, Ronald Web Offset, etc – also marked effective presence.

Ferag: high speed MSD 2:1 inserting system, Minisert – an entry level inserting system. On the occasion Bennett Coleman & Co Ltd (BCCL), publishers of The Times of India, signed a deal for yet another mailroom system with them.

Goss International: Signing orders for 11 Goss web presses during the show, Goss International asserted its leadership position in the web offset sector at drupa 2012. The world’s first 96-page web press – the Goss Sunday 5000 – and the new Goss Colorliner CPS compact newspaper press were featured on the Goss booth, along with units from the new high-speed single-width Goss Magnum HPS model and the new-generation 16-page M-600 model.

Grafitek International: The exporting arm of J Mahabeer & Co Pvt Ltd, Grafitek International successfully participated in the recently concluded drupa 2012, receiving a number of serious enquiries during the show. As per Anil Raghbeer, managing director of the company, who was quite bullish seeing the response, “Inspite of the slow down the world economy, attendance and interest in our current range of web offset presses was strong and in the coming months we are confident to close several orders. The remaining months of financial year 2012 -2013 as well as financial year 2013- 2014 will be busy for us for sure.” Prospective buyer and existing users showed keen interest in the newly launched H type unit of FAST 360 press with a speed of 36,000 copies per hour.

Krause: Along with presenting workflow solutions for the commercial and newspaper application and of course its latest CtP technology for the future oriented newspaper production, Krause introduced version 7 of the successful Krause Imposition Manager (KIM) with PerfectPlan sheet optimization in Düsseldorf. With certified JDF connectivity and the use of job tickets KIM can communicate with various management information systems (MIS).

manroland web systems: With numerous orders booked at drupa 2012, manroland web systems marked thrilling drupa results. “Our autoprint innovations for commercial and newspaper printing, the revolutionary operating concept, and the pressupdate portfolio have very obviously impressed customers all over the world. Our wide range of established and new products has also played a significant role,” is how Peter Kuisle, member of the executive board at manroland web systems, summarizes the company’s success at drupa 2012 in Düsseldorf. “Our expectations have been met in full, the response of customers and their trust in manroland web systems is extremely high,” he adds. The Indian newspaper market remains one of the most dynamic in the world. Besides a comprehensive pressupdate for the Hindustan Times, manroland web systems also booked the largest newspaper press order placed at drupa. The Times of India ordered seven REGIOMAN printing towers and three folders.

MGE: At their stand in drupa, MGE Graphic Systems India was showcasing their PressMate Chilling and dosing units as well as the latest design for the PressMate RO water purification system. During the two-week show, they finalised multiple PressMate sales, and marked strong presence of both Indian printers and OEM manufacturers. Other great highlights for MGE included two new agreements to represent European companies and their products in India. Commenting on the signing of the agreement with Benford UV systems (based in the UK), allowing MGE to offer the complete range of Benford’s UV drying systems.

Muller Martini: With the company’s performance at drupa 2012, Muller Martini is very satisfied. Expressing satisfaction, Bruno Müller, CEO of Muller Martini, said, “I am very satisfied with the company’s performance at the drupa stand and with the many exhibits.” “Having put so much into showing our innovative strength and market performance, of course we want that to result in sales. drupa has been successful for us in that respect too. We are also pleased to see that our MMServices modules have gone down well with customers,” he informed.

Prakash Webtech: Going beyond expectations in terms of business, drupa 2012 went fantastic for Prakash Webtech Pvt Ltd who was displaying their 4 high tower Speedster 36000 featuring automatic registration control with close loop system, remote inking with automatic ink presetting, new user friendly phaser design, latest sleeves to overcome cantilever design and remote operations control desk with touch screen.

QI Press Controls: The company marked a good global spread of orders in addition to many interesting leads from web-offset plants around the world. In a concluding note about drupa 2012, Jaco Bleijenberg, QI Press Controls’ director of international sales & marketing reported satisfaction on all fronts. “With nearly three million Euros in order bookings at this trade fair, QI Press Controls set a personal drupa record. Our new marvel – the mRC-3D self-cleaning depth detection camera – has seen an excellent response and we’ve already secured a number of major orders.”

VINSAK: Provider of broad range of products and solutions for the print and packaging industry, newly established VINSAK announced its successful performance at drupa 2012. VINSAK mainly focused on its two broad pillars i.e. pre-press and brand protection solutions in drupa 2012. A full suite of VINSAK pre-press solutions was showcased to the international audience. The products included VINSAK TPS1160 thermal CtP plate setter, VINSAK TPP1300 thermal CtP plate processor, VINSAK range of thermal CtP plates and VINSAK Analog plates for the printing industry. “Prospects were delighted to see the range of thermal CtP plates offered by VINSAK, under the themes: ‘Marathon’ (very long run), ‘Sprint’ (very high quality) and ‘Pace’ (every day use). This range of plates offer printers a wide latitude of jobs to be produced on VINSAK plate solutions that cater very well to commercial print, service bureaus, publishing, packaging and newspaper segments of the industry,” conveyed Sankarshanan, vice president of the company.

Manugraph India: At drupa 2012, India’s leading web offset manufacturer Manugraph launched HILINE XL A 4 x 1 press with plate & blanket cylinder diameter ratio 1:1, especially suitable for high-class quality printing of newspapers and semi-commercial products at an economic cost. They had visitors/customers coming from Africa, Latin America, Far East Asia, Middle East and CIS countries. Most prominent contracts and MOUs were signed for up to five million to be executed in the financial year 2012-13. Over and above new deals in the pipeline will take place for financial year 2013-14 as well. The M360 machine received overwhelming response as it provides value for money and is most ideal for book work. The Hiline Express machines with 3 forme rollers making it most suitable for commercial printing also received serious enquiries. Having taken the agency for Masterworks Machinery for the Indian market, the company also witnessed a tremendous interest from the packaging industry. Manugraph looks at this as an excellent foundation to enter the packaging world. With the popularity of inkjet and digital solutions on display at drupa, Manugraph also looked at several leading manufacturers of digital printing in order to marry this technology into web offset.
