Sofine, Nasik installs MGI 3D One

Konica Minolta has recently installed MGI JV 3D One at Sofine, Nasik. The JETVARNISH 3D One, with its small footprint, allows printer to have its own in-house UV digital coater, capable of high value-added production, from prototyping to mass production, without screens, chemical solvents, plates or tools.

According to Vikrant of Sofine, “My grandfather started this company as a photography business. We were the first one to set a photo lab in Nasik. Today, this is a third-generation business and we are always happy to invest in new technologies and with the installation of MGI JV 3D one, we have now diversified into graphic industry as well.

The JETVARNISH 3D One uses only one type of coating to produce 2D or 3D tactile coatings, in fixed or variable data. Its automatic cleaning system of the inkjet heads allows to optimize its uptime with ease. “The machine allows us to print CMYK + gold/silver. Our customers were looking for such kind of service and we are happy to provide them right here in Nasik as this is the first machine in Nasik. We even get customers from cities like Indore as well,” adds Vikrant.

Versatile, the JETVARNISH 3D One allows the application of flat or raised varnish with tactile effect, on substrates as varied as paper, cardboard or plastic, from 135 to 450g, previously printed in digital (toner or inkjet), offset, screen or flexo printing.

The machine will be used for wedding cards, business cards, announcements, brochures, book covers, etc. “We can also do short-term box-making for sampling,” adds Vikrant.

The machine has seen demand coming from tier 2 & 3 cities as well as it is an affordable machine to foray into commercial and packaging segments,” says Vijay Kamat of Konica Minolta India Pvt Ltd.
