To be held from February 11-15 at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, Printpack India 2015 is poised to be a bigger and better show. With the show almost booked two months prior to the event, the organisers are upbeat with the response and are now focusing on attracting more visitors to the show. Here, CP Paul, general secretary, IPAMA shares more about the show, in conversation with P&P editors SK Khurana and Varsha Verma. Organised by IPAMA, PRINTPACK INDIA 2015 is poised to be unique, highly innovative and a trend setter exhibition of the Indian printing and packaging industry. A most sought after platform for a host of new launches for machines and equipment, the exhibition will demonstrate today and tomorrow’s technologies and inventions. It will offer excellent opportunities for interaction with the overseas members of the printing & packaging fraternity for entering into joint ventures, collaborations and sourcing of jobs.

The venue for the show, India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, has world class facilities of international standards. The exhibition is planned to be spread over in four halls and four hangars, covering gross area of 35,000 sq m. “Delhi/ NCR is an ideal place for printing exhibitions as 75-80 percent of exhibitors are from North, with major digital players from Delhi, post-press from Punjab and web press from Faridabad,” told CP Paul, general secretary, IPAMA.

According to Paul, the complete exhibition space has been sold out. “We have exceeded our targets and have booked 17,300 sq m net space as compared to 13,800 sq m last year. We have roped in 65-70 new exhibitors and the number of total confirmed exhibitors till now has reached to 350,” he shared.

On asking about the number of overseas exhibitors to the show, he replied that they are just around 30 and this low number could be because of the fair coinciding with the Chinese New Year and a print exhibition (Print China 2015) in China. “But, we take this as a positive sign for us as we largely wish to promote our indigenous printing machinery manufacturers,” he added.

Apart from the mind-boggling displays, synchronising with the event, there will be seminars on ‘Color Management’ on February 12 and ‘Future of Web Offset Printing’ on February 13, 2015. Organised in collaboration with NPES and the International Color Consortium (ICC) the seminar on ‘Color Management’ themed as ‘Manufacturing Success with Colour Management,’ will set to explore the ubiquitous issues of colour management.

While, the seminar on ‘Future of Web Offset Printing’ will be organised with Vibes Academy, Chennai. “Besides, we will also be providing facility for our members to hold workshops for their customers,” shared Paul. “For ensuring maximum footfall, series of promotional meets for visitors and printers have been held, covering various part of the India like Pune, Mumbai, Surat, etc. At all these meets, the response from the industry was simply overwhelming,” told Paul.

IPAMA is now set to hold such road shows in Kochi, Coimbatore, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Hyderabad, Satara (Maharashtra), Latur (Maharashtra), Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Sholapur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Lucknow; besides, in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Nepal, etc. “Last year, we had around 70,000 visitors and we hope to attract around 1,00,000 visitors this time,” expected Paul and said, “We are also coming up with TV commercials for the first time to make Printpack India popular among the masses.” For the benefit of the visitors to the show, IPAMA will be providing shuttle service from metro station to the venue of the show. “Besides, we are tying up with corporate like Dabur, Sony, Samsung, LG, Moser Baer, etc, wherein we will provide transportation to their staff to come and visit the show. Few of the corporates have already agreed,” he informed. “The idea is to educate our customers’ customers on the latest in the technology available today.”

The timings of the show would be 10 am to 6 pm. Adequate efforts have been made to offer best facilities for refreshments, better washrooms, directional signages for better navigation, parking space, waterproof German hangars, etc. “There will be beautiful landscaping in the central area where information counters will be installed,” added Paul.

Some of the facilitators to the show would include Dara Projects (P) Ltd (Fabricator of Outdoor Hangar, Octonorm Stands and beautification of outdoor area); Orient Marine Lines Pvt Ltd and PS Bedi & Company Pvt Ltd (Freight Forwarders & on-site material Handling agents); Golden Wings Tours Pvt Ltd (Travel Partner); Acme Designtech Pvt Ltd (Architectural Services) and Zest Events & Services (onsite registration).

Associations from China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, US, Malaysia, Korea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and from other countries have also assured to extend their full support for the forthcoming Printpack India 2015, along with their business delegations.
