Fifth mRC-3d at Malayala Manorama

Q.I. Press Controls has been working with Malayala Manorama for years. During the span, various aspects in the use of automation in production process in the newspaper’s plants have been progressed. And results at their sites have proved so good that Malayala Manorama had no hesitation in ordering Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC-3D register system for its Manugraph Smartline press in Kollam.

Malayala Manorama owns around 25 leading daily and weekly newspapers in India, published in both English and Malayalam. The organisation operates from nineteen printing plants located in different cities and towns across the country. Apart from being the most circulated daily in India, Malayala Manorama (since 2011) is one of the most widely circulated newspapers in the world. In this respect, Menno Jansen, managing director, Q.I. Press Controls expressed his gratitude towards the new development saying that it has been an honour to have associated with an organisation as successful as Malayala Manorama, now benefitted and satisfied with the automation solutions from Q.I. Press Controls.

Moreover, taking a great deal of pride in the string of orders of mRC-3D register system from Malayala Manorama, Menno Jansen said, “Continuously receiving orders for the mRC-3D cameras demonstrates that Q.I. Press Controls is fit with the leading players (newspapers) on the international circuit, so we are justly proud.” Collaboration between Q.I. Press Controls and Malayala Manorama started in 2011.

Malayala Manorama is the user of Manugraph’s first Smartline double-width printing press. Since the adoption of the smart press, the newspaper has been on the hunt for a supplier of automated solutions that can provide the best possible support. References on the India market pointed to the reliability offered by Q.I. Press Controls; as a result, Malayala Manorama opted for 48 of Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC+ cameras. In doing so, the newspaper affirmed its faith in Q.I. Press Controls’ assurance to enable top-quality printing with the lowest possible levels of waste.

The new or the fifth order of mRC-3D cameras for the Malayala Manorama’s plant in Kollam consists of the new model, the successor to the mRC+. In this, 18 mRC-3D cameras are being installed for colour register and cut-off on the Manugraph Smartline press with 4 towers and 1 folder. According to Malayala Manorama, in the wake of results from previous orders, they are every confident in installing the new system on their Manugraph press in Kollam. Vijay Pandya, MD, Q.I. It also proves the effects of our continuous efforts to provide high-standard services offered by a highly skilled technical team that speaks the language of the customer.”
