CHINA PRINT 2017 the world’s attention Converged in Beijing

CHINA PRINT 2017 International Media Week (InfoPrint 2016) was recently held in Beijing, where delegates got an overview of the exhibition. Sonal Khurana of Print & Publishing attended this event and here’s a brief report. Jointly sponsored by Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC) and China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (hereinafter CIEC), organized by China Print Show Company Limited, CHINA PRINT 2017, also known as the 9th Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition will be held from May 9-13, 2017 at New China International Exhibition Centre. The booth application has now been approaching to an end. CHINA PRINT 2017 is estimated to embrace over 1,300 exhibitors covering a total exhibition area of 160,000 square metres – which is about to attract more than 200,000 visitors from all over the world. Accordingly, new record is expected to be created in the aspect of exhibition statistics.

In order to deliver a comprehensive introduction of the preparatory progress of CHINA PRINT 2017 to the exhibitors, potential visitors and media, the Organising Committee held the International Media Week for CHINA PRINT 2017 and InfoPrint 2016 on December 7, 2016 at China People’s Palace Hotel. The event was attended by around 300 delegates from over 20 countries and regions including Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, The Philippines and United Arab Emirates covering industrial media, leading mass media, printing associations, unions and professionals.

This event was hosted by Lijian WANG, vice president and secretary-general of PEIAC. “As of the 30th of November this year, 1,056 companies from home and abroad submitted their applications online with more than 158,000 square metres exhibition area reserved. The all 8 in-door halls have been fully occupied. Supporting halls covering 40,000 square metres will be constructed right outside the exhibition halls, so as to meet the needs of the exhibitors. The development of CHINA PRINT is not only full of hope and vitality, but also indicates its popularity as an international brand show. CIEC and PEIAC will continue our close cooperation and make the best of advantages, to make CHINA PRINT 2017 a more successful fair,” he said.

Jian’guo XU – president of PEIAC and Shijun ZHENG – vice president of CIEC also participated in the meeting. “As for the organisation of the overseas professional buyers, we will fully take the advantages of the network of Asia Print and Global Print. We have already received confirmations to organise the buyer delegations from associations of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, The Philippines and Vietnam,” said Jian’guo.

Weici CAI gave an analysis on the current status of China’s machinery industries, while Hui ZHAO introduced the latest preparatory progress of CHINA PRINT 2017 in detail. Further, the up-to-date information of a new gravure material – the water-based full-colour ink was released by Huaxin (Foshan) Printing Co Ltd.

The programme also had representatives from Heidelberg, HP, Konica Minolta, Dinga, InfoTech, Sino-MV, Cron, Shandong Century, Beijing Kangdexin and Beijing JHF to deliver their wonderful presentations regarding their exhibiting plans at CHINA PRINT 2017 including the debut of their state-of-the-art technologies and products.

Jing XIA, product director of Heidelberg China gave an overview of Heidelberg – Leading the Digital Printing Era. While, Re-create the Possibility – Discover the Power to Touch the World was the topic of discussion by Peng LI, general manager of HP Indigo and PageWide Web Press Solutions Mainland China and Hong Kong.

New Gravure Material – The Success in the Development of Full Colour Water-based Ink and its Batch Application was discussed by Yongqiang WU, vice president of Huaxin (Foshan) Colour Printing Co Ltd.

Liancheng CAI, CEO of Masterwork Machinery Co Ltd discussed Comprehensive Solutions by Masterwork Leading the Intelligent Post-press Era. Gang LI, business operation director of Digital Printing Department of Konica Minolta China spoke on You&We, Take your business to the next level.

Make the Crisis an Opportunity – New Chance for Digital Post-press was discussed by Zhihao ZHENG, General Manager of Southern China of Shenzhen Infotech Technology Co Ltd. New Model for Printing Processes Control was the topic of discussion for Chen CHEN, product director of Sino-MV Technologies Group.

Jianlong XIANG, general manager of Hangzhou Cron Electrical Co Ltd spoke on Intelligent Printing from Cron Supporting the Industrial Upgrade while Jiqing BIAN, executive director of Shandong Century Machinery Co., Ltd spoke on Century’s Thinking – How to Enhance the Intelligent Automation in Post-press. Yujia BAI, marketing general manager of Beijing Kangdexin Film Material Co Ltd gave a presentation on Leading Visual Innovation, Starting Wonderful Life. Changning YAN, vice president of Beijing JHF Technology Co.,Ltd. spoke on Print Tomorrow, Print the World. Beijing JHF High-tech co. is one of the largest digital printer makers of the world. JHF is also one of the earliest ones who pioneered the research and development of the digital inkjet printing equipment in China.

The event successfully came to an end with Chang’an LU’s closing remarks.

One day prior to the meeting, the representatives also had a trip to China Printing Museum to discover the long history of Chinese printing methodologies and its development; later, Topcent Industrial Park was also visited to illustrate the attendees the contemporary status of China’s printing industry.

The event was enriched by presentations, seminars, media interviews, interactive discussions and visits to the printing-related sites, so that the media were able to learn the exhibition and the industry in-depth and had their reports vividly undertaken from various angles. In addition, the programme also stimulated the cooperation and communication amongst the government, the associations, the Organising Committee, the exhibitors, the visitors and media.

The event was attended by Prof Kamal Chopra, president, AIFMP; HV Sheth, president, IPAMA and Anand V Limaye, general secretary, AIFMP, among others. The visitors to China Print 2013 comprised of 16% Indians and it is expected that there will be similar number this time as well.
