Though India is still growing strong in print, printers have been experiencing slow or disruptive business due to multitude of factors like demonetisation, implementation of GST and others. It will still take some time for things to settle down.

When the going is slow, it is important to retrospect on our past and plan for the future. It is time to understand the workflow properly and plan printshops in a systematic way. Look for the gaps in your workflow and plan more tools and equipments to maintain a seamless operation.

It is time to try different things, learn new processes, and see what can be implemented at your respective plants. Printing expos and conferences are the perfect venues to see new technology solutions, latest software, and unique new applications. The recently concluded PRINT 17 and PACKPRINT International exhibitions showcased a plethora of options for upgradation.

Back home, Indian printers can look forward to the upcoming PAMEX 2017 which will be abuzz with live demos of new and innovative technologies. There will be a proper mix of exhibitors ranging from Digital, Offset, Pre-press and Post-press equipment. Also, there will be a good international participation of exhibitors from China and Japan. To be held in Mumbai from December 18-21, 2017, the show is a must-attend event for all.

Another important event to look out is 2017 Print Business Outlook Conference themed “What’s NEXT” on December 16, 2017 at The Lalit, Mumbai, organised by NPES (USA) The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies & The Bombay Master Printers’ Association (BMPA). This print conference will raise and debate critical issues facing our industry. With over 200 printers, publishers, manufacturers and suppliers in attendance, there will be opportunities to interact, mingle, and network with your target audience.

Such events will be helpful for printers to make meaningful decisions and plan their investments carefully.

Happy printing!
