The 4th International Packaging and Printing Exhibition for Asia (PPI 2013) will be staged from August 28-31, 2013 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Thailand participating close to 250 prominent exhibitors. New Delhi to host inaugural India International Printing & Packaging Fair (IIPPF)

With special focus on ‘out sourced publishing’, the first edition of India International Printing & Packaging Fair (IIPPF) will take place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during August 06-09, 2013, showcasing the latest trends in the contemporary graphic art industry. Organized by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the India International Printing & Packaging Fair (IIPPF) aims to project the potential of Indian graphic arts industry and from the international arena. At the same time, it will provide manufactures to showcase their well researched, designed, produced graphic arts machinery and equipments.

IIPPF 2013 has been designed by the ITPO as an international event to meet the aspiration of printing and packaging industry professionals from all over the world. This new fair has wider profile with an additional focus on printing and publishing business outsourced by developed countries.

The display profile of the fair covers: In pre-press segment: software for CtP, colour management, digital workflow, colour scanners, digital proofing system, plate making systems and plate setter. This event is a significant initiative at a time when the printing and packaging industries in India have been growing at a fast pace. The speedy economic growth in recent years in India has created a stirring momentum in India’s print industry. The printing industry is well established and presently growing at 12 per cent per annum. As many as 8000 weekly and fortnightly newspapers/periodicals are published in Indian languages. India has around 2, 50,000 small, medium and big printers. Besides, up to 26 per cent FDI is permitted in newspapers and periodicals. Packaging industry is currently valued at over USS 14 billion and growing at 14-15 per cent annually. Organised by All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) with TAFCON as associate organiser, at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida Express Way, NCR Delhi during November 14-17, 2013, PAMEX 2013 is setting stage to showcase the generation next technologies from worldwide solution providers across categories, pre-press, in-press, post press. Along with newspaper production solutions, there shall be wide range of machinery and equipments for printing and graphic arts industry applications under one roof.

The 9th edition of International Exhibition on Printing and Allied Machinery Industries PAMEX 13 is the flagship event of AIFMP. The Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Ministry of Urban Development have also been extended their support for the event. Additionally, with the close co-operation of IPAMA (Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers' Association), this event of PAMEX will have more participation from the domestic manufacturers offering affordable equipments.

Over the years the printing industry has grown and made giant strides. In recent times physics and chemistry developed in the prepress, press and post press operations, are immense and printing works are done artistically and sharply with increasing application of computers. In postpress, UV varnish coating has made work fast, to cater to the customer’s needs. Digital press has overtaken conventional presses. With this, India is fast becoming one of the major print producer and manufacturer of printed paper products for the world market. Books, journals and printed jobs are exported to around 120 countries. In this scenario, PAMEX has a major role to play, proving a ‘must to attend show’ for updating the prevailing and emerging trends in the graphic arts industry.

INDIA PACK 2013 marks a huge success

After a glorious inauguration by D Purandeswari, union minister of state for Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, the buyer seller meet at IndiaPack 2013 got off to a very promising start. Business worth over 50000USD was confirmed within a few hours on the first day itself. The seven countries who participated in the Buyer Seller meet were Bangladesh, Kenya, Nigeria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Taiwan.

Welcoming the participating countries, S K Ray, Chairman IIP said, “When there is hardly any face to face connection between the buyers and sellers because of digital media, we think that this maiden initiative of Buyer Seller meet will be beneficial for the industry.”

Dr NC Saha, director IIP added, “IIP has started this initiative for the first time. We invited industries from abroad along with the members of World Packaging Organization and Asian Packaging Federation. The success of this meet has been possible by the presence of a lot of delegates.”

Neeraj Dargan to lead
Manroland Sheetfed subsidiary in India

Manroland Sheetfed GmbH has established an own subsidiary in India. Manroland Sheetfed India Pvt Ltd will be based in New Delhi with local offices in Mumbai and Chennai. Neeraj Dargan heads up the new Manroland Sheetfed operations as managing director. Dargan brings a wealth of experience, having spent more than 30 years in the fields of sales & marketing, technical, operations and commercial, in capital goods and consumables for the print and graphic arts sector.

“I am delighted to be heading the new Manroland Sheetfed subsidiary to expand the company’s APAC operations.
