Bronze, silver and gold awards are presented in regional competitions. The winning printers and their partners will receive their awards in eleven categories, including: Annual Reports, Books, Brochures, Calendars, Catalogues, Digital Print, General Print, Magazines (sheetfed), Magazines (webpress), Packaging and Labels and Printer’s Own Promotion.

Graphic Systems Group LLC (GSG) recently announced the completed acquisition of NYC-based eye2eye Digital, a boutique creative imaging studio specializing in retouching, computer graphic imaging (CGI), web design, and photo studio services. As per the acquisition agreement, eye2eye CEO and founder Carmine Corinella has been named GSG’s new director of retouching and CGI Studios, effective immediately. Founded in 1995, GSG, LLC is headquartered in New York City at 33 East 17th Street. It serves clients globally through a network of offshore in Noida (India), Porto (Portugal), London, and San Jose (Costa Rica).

To update the knowledge of the staff members about the latest technological advancements in printing technology, the Department of Printing Technology, Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College (AGPC), Sivakasi recently organised a workshop on ‘latest trends in printing technology.’ Apart from 12 members from AGPC, SMPA Sivakasi Institute of Printing Technology (2 members) also participated in the two-day programme. Presided over by M Nandakumar, vice principal, AGPC, the workshop was inaugurated by JCI SR Arun, president, JCI Sivakasi. On the occasion, delivering a lecture on ‘digital prepress technology, M Sudhanithie, MD, Kavi Graphics elaborated the technology behind CtP and the types of plates and their processing with more practical aspects. MS Manivannan, MD, Vindhini Vysage, Sivakasi talked about ‘plate chemistry and pressroom chemicals.’ During the programme, an industrial visit to Sripathi Paper & Board Mills, Sukkiravarpatti was also arranged for the staff members. They also visited Dhurga Industries, Ramji Polypack, Bell Printers and Papco Offset Printers, Sivakasi.

To offer more comprehensive web offset solutions, Goss International has acquired the assets of Vits Print GmbH, adding industry-leading sheeting and specialized finishing components that complement its portfolio of Goss web offset print production solutions. Vits Print Rotocut sheeter models and Jet Web finishing products, including coaters, die cutters, prefolders and plow stations will now be manufactured at the Goss International Contiweb facility in Boxmeer, The Netherlands. The facility specializes in auxiliary components, including Goss splicers, pasters and heatset dryers, for web offset printing systems.
