The 7th National Award for Excellence in Printing presented in New Delhi

Organised by the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) and partnered by RICOH, the seventh National Award for Excellence in Printing (NAEP) was recently presented in New Delhi. Recognizing and awarding the artisans from various categories in the CMYK business, the NAEP is the only national award that is supported by the Government of India, and has successfully completed six editions with grandeur and poise. Much coveted by the CMYK and its allied industries, the award rules the roost because of its jury that comprises industry veterans and the large number of categories it poses. As per AIFMP, what makes the NAEP get a standing ovation is its stringent judging processes that involves bar coding of the entries to make them bias-free and filtering them as per ideas or innovations, to name a few.

This 7th Edition of NAEP proved as a platform for all printers, irrespective of their size or location. Whether it is a mind-blowing innovation in packaging from a small set-up in erode or a fantastic technological twist by a large printing house in Chandigarh, the NAEP recognise and award talent in multiple categories, across the country. A three-member esteemed jury, including Dr Rajendrakumar Anayath, Kiran Priyagi and Subhashis Ganguli, judged the entries for the 7th edition of National Awards.

“As we all know, the opening up of the Indian economy and increased consumerism has shown a colossal progress in the retail segment. This in turn has resulted in packaging options with increased shelf lives, innovative collaterals, 360 degree communication media, etc. In other words, it has opened up more opportunities for the printers; as also the need to deliver products at the most competitive prices. And how do we, the printers, get this edge? Simple, the secret lies in ideas, innovations and adapting newer technologies. Perhaps, we all have been doing this already. The result, as we can see, is a fabulous 1,648 entries submitted by over 159 printers across 49 plus categories this year,” said Manoj Mehta, chairman, NAEP in his address on the occasion.
