This is what Hewlett Packard (HP) gets on major innovation in wedding album printing. HP showcased the first ever concept of transforming traditional wedding album printing into video album concept during the Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair (CEIF) 2013 held recently in New Delhi. With the help of augmented reality software Aurasma, HP displayed video which can be directly played from a printed wedding album onto the screen of a scanning device.

Hewlett Packard (HP) displayed 3D albums that can be printed on its Indigo press. Other innovations introduced during the fair by HP included special effects like the raised print, which is now available on HP Indigo digital press.

Trend setter

Keeping in mind the requirements and steep increase in demands of customers during Indian wedding season, HP has consistently updated its portfolio with these new technologies and applications. The company has already brought to its customers innovative and stylish wedding photo albums which last for more than 200 years. These albums are one third the weight of traditional albums and can be customised into miniature photo books. This year HP has changed the game once again with the big and beautiful 29 inch album, which is a bold statement in itself.

“HP has always led the innovation in the digital printing industry with a constant introduction of new possibilities in digital printing. Our innovations being showcased at the CEIF this year reinforce our strong legacy and offer new and profitable ways for our partners to generate business in the times to come,” says A Appadurai, country manager, Indigo & Inkjet Solutions, HP India.

Profitable opportunities

Wedding albums printed on HP Indigo press spells profitable opportunities for commercial photographers and photo labs as they can be delivered with fast turnaround even in the peak season. This brings opportunity for photographers to reap immediate benefits, thereby increasing their working capital rotation and business profits. “Be it a collection of holiday pictures, family photos, wedding pictures or any other memories you want to capture in an album – it’s all possible with HP’s reliable and efficient printing technology portfolio,” added Appadurai.

Breakthrough productivity

At the CEIF, HP showcased the flagship HP Indigo 5600 digital offset press which offers addition of new markets in plastic cards, graphic overlays and high-quality imaging on synthetic substrates. Also being featured was HP Indigo 7600 digital press which is one of the fastest 13×19 inch format digital sheet-fed presses in the market. In addition, HP Indigo 7600 is the only digital sheet-fed press that can print four million colour pages a month.
