A shining debut for Print Pack Arabia 2014

The Indian Printing Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) successfully co-organised Print Pack Arabia 2014 exhibition at Sharjah Expo Centre, Sharjah from April 7–10, 2014 which was aimed at showcasing the emerging opportunities and technologies. It was a comprehensive sourcing platform for commercial and package printing in the region. It attracted printers, industry professionals, buyers and design agencies from different countries. The exhibition was duly supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “The tie-up with IPAMA will help Sharjah to take centre stage in the fast-growing printing and packaging industry in the Middle East region,” he said.

The Print Pack Arabia 2014 was jointly inaugurted by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, chairman of the Sharjah Department of Central Finance and Indrajit Pal, IAS, secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India. Other prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, chairman, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; KS Khurana, president, IPAMA; CP Paul, general secretary, IPAMA and representatives from Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association and others.

Ahmed Mohammad Al Midfa remarked that it is a matter of great pride to see the unveiling of the new trade show at Expo Centre Sharjah and that the Print Pack Arabia will be a landmark event for the region’s printing and packaging industry. Midfa further added that acquiring latest technologies is the key for the sector to cash in on positive fundamentals and that the Print Pack Arabia will be a comprehensive sourcing platform towards this. Keeping the requirements of the industry, Print Pack Arabia will also be providing opportunities for exchange of technological know-how and expertise.

There were 88 exhibitors/participants; prominent amongst them from India, were ACME Machinery (India) Pvt Ltd, APL Machinery Pvt Ltd, Five Star Printing Machinery, Pidilite Industries Ltd, Tirupati Inks Limited, Zenith International, etc. The exhibitors displayed their latest machinery, equipments and allied products. The feedback provided by the Expo Centre shows that there were about 5000 potential buyers from 77 different countries. Seminars, business conferences and buyer-seller meets were also organised during the exhibition. The Indian participants reported booking of substantial orders which is a matter of pride for the Indian manufacturers.
