Bangalore based Mangala Art Printers has recently invested in brand new Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 4-colour press with a coating unit and Suprasetter A106 CtP, reaffirming its compelling presence in the printing fraternity of the Garden city. With the latest installation, Mangala Art Printers is now a one-stop print shop that owns state-of-the-art equipments from prepress to post press…no mean accomplishment for a small business established in 1979, in a 600 sq ft rented area with an initial investment of Rs 39,000.

Hailing from a family of farmers, Sundar embarked on his printing career as a press operator for Sharada Press in Mangalore, one of the oldest presses in South India operating since 1900. After a ten-year stint here, he moved to Mytec Process in Bangalore in 1970, pitching in another nine years.

Two-decades of printing experience awakened the entrepreneur in Salian, and in 1979, he established Mangala Art Printers.

The machines…

Designed for the 605 × 745 paper format, the Speedmaster XL 75 offers shortest make-ready times, and consistent high production speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour – features that define and decide the competitive edges in technology and productivity. Sundar is ecstatic about the Speedmaster. “Heidelberg presses are topnotch in quality and performance, and our Speedmaster XL 75 surpasses expectations. It is a great return on our investment, already attracting more clients and orders.”

Sundar Salian with the brand new Heidelberg Suprasetter A 106 along with Sajan and SachinCommercial printing accounts for 80 percent of the business at Mangala Art Printers, while packaging jobs contribute the rest. “Since we are into both commercial and packaging printing, the Speedmaster XL 75 is a boon helping us cater to both segments,” adds Sundar.

The other new jewel in the crown – the Heidelberg Suprasetter A106 thermal CtP–high performance pre-press equipment –offers superb quality with maximum production capability. The Suprasetter A106 offers exceptional smart plate handling, and can process 18 plates per hour with plate formats ranging from 370 × 323 mm to 930 × 1,060 mm.

Mangala Art Printers has also opted for the best-in-class Prinect workflow solutions – the Prinect Pre-press Manager and Prinect Press room Manager – that ensure fully automatic processing of print jobs, by significantly simplifying and accelerating prepress tasks. “With the addition of Heidelberg print solutions, we are now an all-inclusive print shop, providing a complete range of print solutions to our customers,” beams Sundar.
