Konica Minolta unpacks bizhub PRESS C1100/ C1085 mid-production machines

Boosting image quality, reliability and productivity to a new high Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd in association with its distribution partner HCL Infosystems Ltd recently released bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085, a new series designed for 100 percent productivity and maximised profitability, at a grand launch in New Delhi. A host of printing firms across the city poured in to witness the unpacking of the much-awaited digital presses. In his welcome note to the eager crowd waiting to perceive the formal introduction of Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085, V Balakrishnan, executive general manager–marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd cheered up everyone for a new impulsion which the machines have brought about in terms of productivity and profitability. Elated to unpack the latest in the bizhub series, Yuji Nakata, MD, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd remarked, “Ever since the sales subsidiary of Konica Minolta opened in India four years back, we keep introducing machines in accordance to the vital needs of our Indian customers. Today, bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085 are presented here for sustainable business and productivity to a new level.”

Game changer

“Our philosophy is to look closer after our customers. Now, we expand to 56 percent market share of colour MS and this year we are happy to see our customer base is expanding to newer domains, such as book publishers,” said Kuldeep Malhotra, executive general manager (sales), sales & marketing division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd. He added, “Today, inkjet and electrophotography applications have been growing extensively ever since we marked this trend with the maiden introduction of bizhub PRESS C8000 in 2010 in India.”

Co-existence with offset Revealing the technical advancements of bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085, Manish Gupta, PP product & marketing manager, sales & marketing division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd mentioned that this second generation of midproduction machine is based on the ‘Harmonic Concept’ – a new way to create more orders and co-exist in harmony with offset business. “This series helps in fulfilling the market demands for prints on advanced paper media, wider small-lot orders with quick turn-around as well as personalised printing to support one-to-one marketing, contrary to the mass offset printing” he explained.

“Advanced fusing system and innovative low-melt Simitri HD E toner in bizhub PRESS C1100/ C1085 make this series capable to produce optimal productivity with rated print speeds up to 100 ppm (paper per minute) and 85 ppm, regardless of any print media type,” described Manish adding, “This new series also supports continuous high-speed printing up to 350 gsm cardstock with auto duplex printing.” Enhanced Simitri HD E toner, S.E.A.D. IV screen processing in this new bizhub PRESS series continuously maintains image stability over long press run, air suction (vacuum) paper feeding for spot-on registration and reliable paper handling and hybrid decurling (zig zag plus moisture). “In-line colour density control (CDC) of the machine ensures optimal image quality and consistency even on the long-run production,” explained Manish. In this context, Atul Goyal, sr director, IDC Engineering, EFI referred the machine’s competency with Fiery Dashboard for perfect colour consistency and web-to-print options.

Finishing options

Comprehensive array of finishing options are featured in bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085. Manish asserted, “All-in-one finisher (FS-532) with staple cutter for up to 100 sheets for stunning finishes can be done.” Further, saddle stitcher (SD-506) is designed to stitch up manuals and catalogues in small lots. Multi-folding unit (FD-503) is yet another advantage which is featured in this new bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085 series to provide variety of folding options. “Perfect binding capacity of bizhub PRESS C1100/C1085 is robust in its class. PB-503 can perfectly bind up to 300 sheets (600 pages) or up to 30 mm thick,” asserted Manish.
