Konica Minolta India celebrates
landmark installation of MGI at Printology Xperts

Showcasing a gamut of high-quality and innovative MGI samples to highlight market differentiation, Konica Minolta India has organised an event marking the celebrations of the landmark installation of MGI JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV and inline IFOIL system at Printology Xperts, a New Delhi-based print expert for specialised visiting, invitation and wedding cards and menus.

Installation of MGI JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV and inline IFOIL system at Printology Xperts is a milestone for Konica Minolta India. To mark the landmark installation, Konica Minolta India organised the event on June 16, 2018 in New Delhi, pulling a crowd comprising a host of commercial and packaging printers from Delhi.

The event witnessed the presence of Daisuke Mori, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd; Manish Gupta, National Marketing Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd, and Ashok Sethi, General Manager – Sales-PPDC/IDC, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd along with Amritpal Singh Bawa, National Manager of TechNova Imaging Systems and others. Daisuke Mori said the specialty graphic printing has gained a new momentum in India and new installation of MGI JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV and inline IFOIL system at Printology Xperts signifies the development.

The latest version of MGI JETvarnish installed at Printology Xperts is designed for personalised 3D spot coating and embossed hot foil stamping applications. On their investment in MGI JETvarnish 3D & IFOIL system, Kamal Malik, Founder – Printology Xperts, said, “Printing requirements are changing rapidly, and it is time for print and printing businesses to evolve in step with this new paradigm. The very innovative 3D spot coating and hot foil stamping equipment from MGI can help businesses like ours to cater to the new-age printing requirements, swiftly and with much better results.”

JETvarnish 3D and IFOIL utilise MGI’s patented inkjet and hot foil stamping technology to provide digital spot UV coating in plain 2D and 3D (with thickness of up to 200 microns) and embossed foil textured effects in one pass. The digital spot UV coating process is 100 percent variable data capable, with barcode reader options that enable custom spot varnished prints with unique graphics, text, and numeric data.

Printology Xperts is a brainchild of two industry veterans, Kamal Malik and Ravinder Kumar, incepted in August 2017, shifting their business gear from analogue to digital. MGI JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV and inline IFOIL system is a combined force of Konica Minolta and TechNova and such combo impressed the veterans to go for the technology. The company boasts a production setup fully equipped with production printers such as RICOH C9100, KM 1052, Duplo 616 slitting machine, Polar paper cutting machine, Stahl paper folding machine, among others.

MGI Jetvarnish 3D with digital foil digitally coats spot UV on page sizes varying from A4 to 36.4cm x 104cm at a maximum print speed of 2298 A3 pages an hour. The machine is designed for enhancement on most matte or glossy laminated surfaces, with or without aqueous coating, layered paper, plastic, PVC and other coated materials. It also is capable to coat spot 3D directly onto most digital prints. The machine comes standard with 1 coating tank for both 2D & 3D applications.

At the event, Konica Minolta showcased diverse innovative and high-quality MGI samples created on MGI equipment installed at the state-of-the-art production facility of Printology Xperts. The sample prints incorporated a wide range of print embellishments and special effects which were unattainable through traditional printing technologies.

The demonstration, on the sidelines of the event, highlighted how Konica Minolta’s innovative MGI solutions could help packaging and commercial printing customers, graphic designers, and advertising agencies to envision and implement novel print execution strategies to drive better business outcomes. MGI JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV and inline IFOIL system was introduced in India during the PRINTPACK 2015. The spot UV system comes with a software suite developed by MGI that includes management tools such as a job cost calculator, workstation image editor, reprinting utility, and the AIS smart scanner setup and variable data controller. Since its introduction in the Indian market, more than 15 MGI Jetvarnish machines have been installed in the country, among which the latest being the one at Printology Xperts.
