Germany-based Siegwerk recently celebrated 100th year of the brand ‘Siegwerk’. On the occasion of the centenary celebration in New Delhi, many top officials from the company were present, including: Herbert Gorker, group president and CEO alongwith Ralf Hildenbrand, president, Siegwerk Asia and member of the Board with team Siegwerk India and other print and packaging industry stalwarts.

Back to the history of the company, it was the year 1830 when a family, Christian Gottlieb Rolffs, founded a Fabric Printing works in Cologne, Germany. And with the competence and printing know-how this former Kattunfabrik factory flourished into an international manufacturer of printing inks. Later in the year 1911, exactly 100 years ago the family decided to provide a more professional and international look to the company by giving its name the ‘SIEGWERK’. The year 2011 is the centenary year for the brand, and that’s what they have been celebrating for.

Addressing the eminent gathering, Ralf Hildenbrand stated, “India is the land of opportunities – both, exciting and challenging at the same time. It is one of the fastest growing and most important packaging markets in Asia and globally. The future perspectives are amazing – I am honoured and excited to be a part of this dynamic industry.” Being happy over Siegwerk India’s impressive growth trajectory, for more than ten years, he said, “This success is very much based on the confidence that our customers and partners have in us.
