Engineered for high quality precision plate making applications, TechNova’s ThermoStar T9 range of thermal platesetters meet & exceed the needs of commercial printers. A host of leading commercial printers, viz. Alois Graphics in Kerala, Nutech Graphics in Odisha and others have installed these devices and widely acclaimed & acknowledged their performance, ease-of-use, quality and consistency.

Alois Graphics invested in the TechNova ThermoStar T9 thermal platesetter to open its own in-house pre-press setup and get more out of its Komori press. Adoption of the advanced platesetter helps the printer improve quality and reduce turnaround time. Earlier, it was service bureaus wherefrom Alois Graphics picked up plates, but it was cumbersome and time consuming. When the company realised the need of a new CtP system to get the best out of their new four-colour Komori press, TechNova came into the scene and the kit was installed within five days of the confirmation of order.

TechNova has been an old ally of Alois Graphics. The two have closely partnered since last 25 years. “We are proud to be one of the key customers of TechNova for more than two decades. We are quite satisfied with TechNova’s products and the company’s committed after-sales service,” said Aniyan K Moses, Proprietor of Alois Graphics. He added that they always prefer TechNova products for quality and affordability.

Two new milestones

Incepted in the year 1995, Alois Graphics kick-started its journey of commercial printing with an AB Dick mini offset press. The company kept upgrading its production facility continuously with new advanced presses in the subsequent years. Irrespective of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alois Graphics marks two important milestone installations this year—installations of Komori press and TechNova’s ThermoStar T9 system. On choosing TechNova ThermoStar T9 thermal platesetter, Aniyan commented, “We use TechNova plates. So, this TechNova platesetter with TechNova plates make a perfect combination and the output is excellent.”

Having been predominantly engaging in book and magazine printing for years, Alois Graphics boasts of a client list containing a number of leading book publishers. The company produces variants of soft bound, hardbound, case binding with or without flap. The book covers are strikingly made with UV/spot UV, matt, glossy laminations. The company also offers printing of single/multi-colour magazines with and without pre-press designing, in wide range of stocks and post-press finishing. Alois Graphics has won various awards and accolades including National Award for Excellence in Printing (NAEP) from AIFMP.

Another key customer

Yet another key customer of TechNova, whose pre-press setup has been upgraded with TechNova ThermoStar T9 thermal platesetter, is Nutech Graphics in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The printer has also been a long-term customer of TechNova. They are user of only TechNova plates. Before the adoption of the new TechNova platesetter & processor, they exposed TechNova plates on other CtP brand.

When asked why they opted for the TechNova Thermostar T9 thermal platesetter, Ajay Mohapatra, Director of Nutech Graphics, mentioned that they wanted to meet the faster delivery deadlines of their customers so they eventually relied on TechNova digital plates.

“TechNova Thermostar T9 thermal platesetter is an excellent system. Since its installation in February last year we have had no issues with the machine. Moreover, we are quite happy and satisfied with TechNova’s instant response we get when we need any kind of help from them,” said Ajay.

Started as Global Printers in 2001 with its facility barely equipped with a manual screen printing machine, Nutech Graphics is a brainchild of Ajay Kishore Mohapatra and Braja Kishore Mohapatra. From time to time, the company upgraded its production facility as they opened the plate graining division, gradually installed a line of machines such as Komori 426, Komori 440, Mitsubishi 429, Shinohara 52, NBG web offset presses, etc. one after another.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Nutech Graphics has upgraded its pre-press setup to another level with the installation of TechNova ThermoStar T9 thermal platesetter. In the post-press setup, the company has installed a Muller Martini auto station machine. The company currently garners around 70 percent of its job volume from the commercial printing market, which includes jobs from other printers, agencies and corporate biggies. The rest are from government departments, particularly health and education.
