Cosmo Films develops ‘TeploR’ heat resistant film

Cosmo Films, a global leader in specialty films, has successfully developed a new transparent printable biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film called ‘TeploR’ with a higher heat resistance. The FMCG brands and the entire packaging industry are aiming to recycle waste generated from flexible packaging. BOPP films have an excellent recyclability. However, most of the flexible packaging is made with different plastic materials making it difficult to recycle.

TeploR has been developed to work as a printing layer allowing mono material structures in multi-layer laminates for various packaging applications in both food and non-food segments. The film has excellent slip properties, good machinability and has a great performance on high-speed VFFS and HFFS machines. It has good thermal stability (no shrinkage) up to 185˚C, way more than conventional BOPP films (145-155˚C). TeploR will prove to be a good replacement in packaging machines where the sealing temperatures are higher.

On the new film, Pankaj Poddar, CEO, Cosmo Films Ltd, said, “TeploR film has an excellent printable surface at high converting speeds; it will not shrink or form wrinkles and can be recycled easily. We have also gone ahead and patented the product in the company’s name. ” Established in 1981 and founded by Ashok Jaipuria, Cosmo Films is a global leader in specialty films for packaging, lamination, labelling and synthetic paper.
