PAMEX 2024, the most valuable printing exhibition, is continuing on the story of ‘Convergence in Print’, with innovations from Print, Labels, Flexible Packaging, Corrugation, Textile Printing & Signage on display. But that’s not all, visitors can expect many cutting-edge technologies at the show.

World over the growth in the printing industry is driven by a flourishing label and packaging segment. This is reflected at PAMEX too, which will have an array of label presses and allied solutions on display in the 2024 edition that is scheduled from 6-9 February, 2024 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

Webtech International Machineries will unveil its latest LABELTECH X2 SERIES Flexographic Printing Machine at Pamex 2024 Mumbai. “Designed with cutting-edge technology and industry-leading features, the X2 SERIES represents a leap forward in flexographic printing,” shared Shiv Nandan Singh, COO & Executive Director of the company. “This state-of-the-art machine combines precision, speed, and versatility to meet the dynamic demands of label printing. Nippon Color is set to demonstrate the capabilities of their digital label finisher, the VD-330, at PAMEX 2024. It serves as an ideal solution for label printers utilizing digital label presses, facilitating a streamlined digital workflow with an exceptionally quick time to market.

Moreover, Nippon Color will present upgraded CTCP and Thermal CTP plates designed to significantly enhance the productivity of offset printers and plate trade shops. These advancements aim to maximize printing runs while minimizing rejection rates. Their product range also includes Cron CTP machines, Luescher Hybrid CTP systems, Konica Minolta Digital Spot UV Varnish and Foiling solutions powered by MGI, Screen Digital Label Press, and Hanglobal Inkjet solution for Publications.

Thane-based Shreeji Corporation, which has a strong presence in the digital printing & print finishing equipment market, is fully geared up to present a string of new products and innovations at PAMEX 2024. Krunal Jasani, Director, Shreeji Corporation, says that among the line of machines and technologies they are going to showcase as key products during the expo will be two new highly advanced and efficient SAGA finishing machines.” Shreeji Corporation is one of the biggest channel partners of Xerox, EPSON and SAGA in India.

Krunal adds, “The two new SAGA products to be revealed at the expo are a flatbed cutter and an ‘Absorbed’ sheet cutter. The new flatbed cutter can take up to 3mm thick materials. It has additional advanced features for auto die-cutting integrated with paper feeding and scanning creasing and cutting systems. On other hand, the ‘Absorbed’ sheet cutter has independent software integration with multi-function and wide model compatibility.” In addition to being a channel partner of leading international brands, Shreeji Corporation boasts of its own Finitura brand of cutter, binder, creasing machine, thermal laminator, etc.

Komori India, a subsidiary of Komori Corporation, Japan – world largest manufacturers of Offset Printing Machines — will be participating in coming PAMEX 2024 in Mumbai, wherein there will be no products on display this year but only catalogue stall with PAN INDIA Sales Team, Technical Experts, Product Manager, Japanese Experts on the stall. “As such there will be no product display or launches of new products in PAMEX – but surely in drupa there will be new launches,” shares Stanley Decastro, Komori India. During the show, entire Sales Team with Indian & Japanese experts will be available at stall to cater to the requirements of all Packaging, Commercial & Publishing sector customers.“PAMEX is important exhibition for Komori India since last many years as we were able to close good nos. of orders and expecting same this year too. Konica Minolta AccurioLabel Series, which are toner-based production label presses, will also be part of the key highlights at the company’s stall during PAMEX 2024. Alliance Printech participated in 2023 for the first time and is coming back in 2024 with even bigger plans. “We will take centre stage at PAMEX by introducing the Novasmart – Multi substrate Flexo label press and ACER – label inspection Slitter Rewinder, setting new standards in label industry,” shared Jatinder Jhulka, Founder of the company.

Heidelberg India will be showcasing the offerings of Heidelberg and Gallus Solutions, encompassing Prinect, Service, and Consumables solutions. Samir Patkar, President Heidelberg India, expressed optimism about the show, noting, “We are participating in PAMEX after a long time and have high expectations in terms of the quality of visitors.”

The Printers House will display Orient Jet L & P Series, the disruptive Inkjet Printing Machines for the label segment. “It is fully made in house providing market leading ROI’s in terms of capex and opex. Our digital machines are also available in a single and 4 color with the Orient Jet C series,” said Kohli.

Vinsak India will feature Rotatek, Iwasaki and Lombardi Label Printing Presses. “Labels and Packaging continue to grow year-on-year and has attracted printers looking to diversify their portfolio and insulate their businesses from technology risks,” said Ranesh Bajaj, the Director of the company.

Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), which had a catalogue presentation last time, has taken a larger space to promote its flexo press and several other machines. Apex International will offer anilox- metering rolls and sleeves under the label segment of the Show.

Esko Graphics India will offer software solutions for the label converting industry in terms of streamlining processes, optimizing resource allocation, and leveraging automation tools, thus helping them to handle larger workloads without sacrificing quality or turnaround times.

Canon India is showcasing a line of its state-of-the-art production and large-format printers with an aim to provide comprehensive printing solutions for jobbers, copy shop owners, architects, photo labs, offset players, etc.The line will include the company’s newly launched talk-of-the-town Canon imagePRESS V1350 and Canon imagePROGRAF-TM-Series—both are designed to elevate the productivity & profitability of users to new heights. Other key products from Canon India at PAMEX 2024 will include Canon imagePRESS V1000, imagePROGRAF TX & TC Series printers, etc. The company’s stall will be divided into two zones showcasing the printers in each zone making as a one-stop solution for all.

Pratham Technologies to launch automatic paper folding machine and robotic automation system

Varad Deshpande, Chief Operating Officer, Pratham Technologies shares their plans for PAMEX.

Briefly describe the main products and services your company is showcasing at PAMEX.

Varad: At PAMEX, our main focus is to introduce two new products – a fully automatic commercial folder and the double taping machine. Additionally, we’re displaying a 12 pocket outsert folder with 2 knives and a SuperInspect machine for printing QR code along with size and glue detection. We will also display a 6 pocket insert folder with a 53mm width.

What sets your products apart from competitors in the industry?

Varad: Our focus is on developing global quality products that are innovative as well as cost effective. Moreover, we are able to deliver them faster than our competitors. We intend to prove to the world what India is capable of.

Share the details of the live demonstrations or presentations at the booth?

Varad: We will have 15 minute demos of all our machines every hour at our booth. Additionally whenever our visitors and customers request a demo, we will be able to provide it to them.

How important is PAMEX for your company? What are your expectations from the fair?

Varad: We have been participating in PAMEX for the last 22 years, and every time we are able to display something innovative for our customers. PAMEX has always given us that platform to showcase our new products, features and innovations. This time as well, like last year, we are expecting an overwhelming response.

What are your plans for drupa?

Varad: We are participating in drupa after almost 16 years now. We are really excited, as we are planning to launch the Auto Tray Packer. In this drupa, the world will start looking at us as a global company in paper folding machines.

How do these offerings cater to the international printing market?

Varad: The world is moving towards automation, and we have to adopt to this change fast. Hence, we have decided to give special attention to add various automation centric features in our products that reduce human dependency. The ATP for example, will be an end of the line product that will pack the leaflets in the trays.

How does your company stay innovative and adaptive to global trends in the printing industry?

Varad: We constantly invest in our people, process and products. As we grow globally, we are mindful that we also need to be lean and flexible, and keep the entrepreneurship within the company alive. Just in the last year, we were able to make significant improvements in our outsert folder to make it more operator friendly and aesthetically better.

How do you plan to position your products/services in the international market?

Varad: Our USP is reliability, cost effectiveness, fast delivery and responsive customer service. We are always there for our customer to help them in every situation, whether it directly concerns us or not. That is why we dominate the Indian market. In the international market as well, we will stick to our strengths.

How does your company ensure that its products and services meet international quality and safety standards?

Varad: Yes, all our products are CE certified and thoroughly tested in our facility. Moreover, we manufacture global quality parts, and source only certified bought out parts like motors, belts, etc.

What challenges and opportunities does your company foresee in the global printing market?

Varad: As the printing industry becomes more consolidated over the years, individual printing houses will need to become more professional, cost effective, setup efficient processes while investing in automation and skilled manpower. I am sure that the next generation will be able to help facilitate this change.

Pamex 2024 is scheduled at timelines which are little before drupa & it is a good stage to introduce new products here which can be introduced to market for their study. It will be easier for decision makers to evaluate options at drupa & to take forward projects. We just expect to get connected to growing industry & keep our portfolio informed to our audience. This expo will help us extend our product demonstrations to potential converters planning to invest.”

Talking about the industry, Tushar shares, “We think there is growth which is aligned with overall growth of our country. We are witnessing record number of start-ups & investments happening in the country. This is ultimately going to pass on share to each sector and so to packaging as well,” concludes Tushar.
