Started in 1968 with a treadle press, in an area of 220 sq ft, Mumbai-based Jayant Printery has come a long way in four decades and is now operating in a 45,000 sq ft plant with 360 degree print solutions, from pre-press to post-press. The company recently expanded its production facility with a brand new Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 four-colour offset press, enabling to print 15,000 sheets per hour and handle a variety of printing stocks – from light-weight paper (0.03 mm) to thick card-board (1.00 mm). In the 70 x 100 cm format, the Speedmaster CD 102 straight printing press is compact for industrial printing, packaging and commercial printing. It is also equipped with ‘Prinect press center’ and has added features like preset-plus feeder, preset delivery, program-controlled inking unit wash-up device.

At Jayant Printery, normally in an eight hour shift, four jobs are expected to be produced. Now with the Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102, they are able to run seventeen sets of four-colour jobs in a single day shift. What’s more, with thorough training from Heidelberg service team, the operators run the press at a full speed of 15,000 sheets per hour every day. The print-shop handles an array of commercial jobs, books, magazines, diaries, journals, as well as packaging jobs. Jayant Printery has two production units: one in Thakurdwar in Mumbai and the other one in Palghar near Mumbai. Both units have prepress, press and postpress divisions in-house and the Speedmaster CD 102 is installed in their Palghar plant.

In 1989, Jayant Printery installed its first Heidelberg SORM press, followed by a Heidelberg SM 72–M press. Having experienced Heidelberg technology, they installed a Speedmaster SM 102 four-colour press and Heidelberg Printmaster PM 74 press as well. Today, Jayant Printery is a house of Heidelberg presses, which accommodates three four-colour, two five-colour, one two-colour and a single-colour presses. “Quality and on-time delivery is the mantra behind our success. That is why all our customers keep coming back to us. We constantly upgrade to the latest technology like that of Heidelberg, resulting in optimum production and high returns,” stated Chhotubhai Shah, managing director of Jayant Printery, commenting on their successful forty three years in the print industry.

“We have been using Heidelberg presses for a long time and we are 100 percent satisfied with Heidelberg’s performance and quality. If I have to rate the machine’s production ability, I will give seven stars to Heidelberg,” conveyed Chhotubhai. “When we thought of purchasing a new press for Palghar plant, we were clear that it should be a Heidelberg. The Speedmaster CD 102 fulfills our requirement perfectly; make-ready times are shorter and job changeover is so simple with this machine. Within one and half months of its installation, the CD 102 has crossed seven million impressions already,” added Shashank, son of Chhotubhai, who takes care of marketing and business development.
