Two Indian packaging giants merge together

Manipal Technologies Ltd and Utility Printpack Pvt Ltd are merging their packaging businesses to form Manipal Utility Packaging Solutions Pvt Ltd (MUPL), which will have manufacturing operations in Manipal, Ahmedabad and Chennai.

Speaking on the occasion of announcing the partnership, Gautham Pai, managing director of The Manipal Group said, “Packaging solutions is identified as one of our high growth businesses for the future, and we aspire to build a global packaging business spanning emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The partnership with Utility provides us the capabilities to accelerate the growth and achieve our long term vision in this business.”

While, Manoj Mehta, chairman of Utility Printpack said, “The partnership with Manipal further reinforces our vision and commitment towards focused growth in the packaging business. The new entity will combine our strengths and provide a resounding resource to our combined customers in India and over 40 countries worldwide.”
