Print Bindaas, an e-commerce platform that enables online users to design and order office stationery and marketing collaterals online, has made its mark in a short span of less than three years. The company has been growing over 100 percent year on year since its inception. Smita Dwivedi in conversation with Suraj Goyal, founder – Print Bindaas, discovers more about this revolutionary initiative. As per industry analysts, web-to-print is a thriving market in India with an estimated opportunity market size of about five to six billion USD. Print Bindaas uses webto- print technology to address end to end requirements of its customers. This includes research, conceptualsation, designing, providing content, printing and delivery. Customers can even design their own products by making use of online templates. The portal provides 1000+ templates to choose from related to industries like wellness & sports, real estate, home maintenance, healthcare, finance, tours & travels, hotel/ hospitality, education, retail, food & beverage, business services and more.

Journey so far…
Suraj GoyalOn asking about the inception story, Suraj shared, “Print Bindaas was launched in May 2011. Apart from in-house digital set up, we have partnered with several printers across various locations. We have branches in Mumbai and Delhi. Nevertheless, by using the online platform, it has been serving pan India market, and even international clients.”

“I have worked with companies such as Wipro, NCR Corporation and SAP for over 12 years before deciding to take the entrepreneurial plunge in the form of printbindaas.com. Support came from angel investors such as Sanjay Jain who operates a successful packaging business with revenue upwards of INR 350 crore and Manoj Swain, CEO at Morgan Stanley, who helped us with the seed fund. Within three years of operations, Print Bindaas is able to generate sufficient revenue for operational break-even and is growing at a rapid pace,” added Suraj.

The turning point…
Print Bindaas’s landmark assignment has been the massive BJP general election campaign “Acche Din” that had let India decide its present government, has definitely brought some good days for Print Bindaas, as they manage a stationery and merchandise portal for BJP branded products. Asking more about the campaign, he said, “It was a good project for us, we worked on assignments successfully related to direct mailing for fundraising just before general elections. Time pressure was immense, however the team worked almost day and night for over couple of weeks to make the campaign a massive success.”

Strong customer base…
Print Bindaas has a strong client base of over 1,000+ clients and Suraj is really proud of this achievement. Further adding to this, he said, “We service more than thousand clients through our B2C portal. Besides, there are some key clients who use the corporate portal to order print stationery from Print Bindaas such as Sukam, Pidilite, AU Financier, IIFL, etc. We have great relationship with all our clients. Every month we are adding more and more names to our clients list.”
