Companies’ updates at the media week for PRINT CHINA 2015

PRINT CHINA 2015 will be an important event for Canon. China as a country will be their focus target as it has huge market potential. As a most popular application of digital printing, it is going to be the book printing (an interesting video on book printing was also shown) as a biggest segment. Canon has come out with new ad campaign ‘Digital Printing All in Canon.’

“Recently launched eight new products shall be showcased in a display area of 600 sq m in Hall 3F. And inkjet is going to be the focus,” revealed Kraan Pieter, senior manager, Canon Professional Printing Products Marketing Department.

Briefing about their products and offerings to be on display at PRINT CHINA 2015 every company talked elaborately on Green Printing Concept. They said that it is an environmentally friendly sustainable concept which requires to be practiced at large. For this, Chinese laws are also prevalent to follow majorly and achieve: Reduced carbon footprint, Low carbon emission, Eco certification, Paper and energy waste reduction, etc. Fujifilm comes with a new caption ‘Value for Innovation’. Yuji Oki, general manager assistant of Printing Department, Fujifilm talked about their activities and market share in China, and a collective initiative with FujiXerox under the formula of 1+1>2. Yuji Oki talked about their Jet Press 720, a next generation digital inkjet press. He also enumerated the journey of this press since drupa 2008 and reaching to the second generation digital inkjet stage this year.

Their flagship industrial packaging solution (Flatbed), a large format hybrid inkjet printer which produces outstanding packaging prototypes and XMF ColorPath software, a cloud-based colour management system that brings standards-based colour control to digital and analogue printing technologies will be on display at PRINT CHINA 2015.

As per spokesperson of FujiXerox, printing industry is very important industry and they are going to display value added products. These include production color printer, Color 1000i Press, targeting the high-end professional printing market. It is industry’s first xerographic production printer to offer both metallic gold and silver colors. Besides, FujiXerox will also display iGen4/150 and different models of Nuvera 120 series. Xerox Nuvera 120 production system is a customisable commercial printer that offers three efficient speeds, a high level of image quality with progressive monochrome technology, exceptional output, high productivity and a wide range of finishing options, as well as a healthy return on investment. There is an optional paperfeeding module and finisher module enabling users to restock paper and refill toner during printing, ensuring continuous operation.

The printer saves on labour with the stapler mechanism which comes with the finisher module. One can print up to A3 or SRA3 efficiently with this powerful monochrome commercial printer. It produces quality at par with the traditional print process. The speaker also informed that they are helping their customers to get Fogra certifications to achieve standardisation in colours.

Hans-Gronhi is pioneer in laser. They came to limelight in the year 2011 after acquiring Shinohara’s technology, patents, equipments and all stock, entering the large format printing press field. As per Liu Xuezhi, general manager, Hans-Gronhi, they shall be launching large format press and CtP for packaging requirements and also the digital laser die-cutting machine.

Tan Haohui, general manager of Heidelberg (Shenzhen) while speaking to the audience was very optimistic in conveying that PRINT CHINA 2015 will benefit Asia pacific market greatly. Within China there is huge demand for multicolour printing.

Flexible printing is increasing apart from digital. “Though there are many challenges, but we at Heidelberg are trying our best to offer value addition by inculcating more of software within our equipments. We are of the view that IT integration do brings in higher print quality.

Mix of digital and offset can produce innovative outputs.” He also talked about Speed Master XL75 Anicolor offset press which enables printers to save more than 90 percent compared with inkjet based devices, apart from Linoprint and Swiss product Gallus DCS 340 – a digital inline label printing system , which will be on display in PRINT CHINA 2015.

Established in the year 1923 Komori commands a high respect in the printing industry all over the world. Criag Chan, president of Komori (Hong Kong) communicated that products like GX 40/ G40 – a press of superior configuration with a wealth of automation possibilities designed around the KHS-AI system, LA 437 – a four-colour 37-inch offset printing press, Impremia C60 (it is a toner-based full colour digital printing machine that is capable of handling a wide range of work, K-Color Simulator (KCS), which was showcased in recently concluded at All in Print China, shall be on display during PRINT CHINA 2015. He also talked about their concept of H-UV which enables energy savings to a greater extent.

Komori has been very aggressively supporting technology concept and have established Komori Graphic Technology Center in Japan where research and training goes on extensively. They are of the firm belief that innovation will change the print world for sure. Komori has also setup such technology centers in Amsterdam and Shenzhen City.

While introducing their traditional activities, Steel li of Konica Minolta Business Solutions talked about their digital bizhub PRESS C1100/1085 which extend the print provider’s range of highvolume job possibilities and maintain the stable high image quality demanded by professional users for high-volume printing.

He also proudly announced having received certification from IDEAlliance-China. Another topic he discussed was digital glazing for which they acquired 60 percent stake of MGI (Jet Warnish), which will also be on display in PRINT CHINA 2015. Steel li emphasised greatly of their participation towards POD solution and how successful companies like Charter House and Kinko’s are already on their platform.

Roy Guo, assistant of global marketing manager, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH talked about their owner company Langley Holdings plc and communicated their full commitment in making printing business to grow. Their’s is a company having their own foundry in Offenbach, Germany where also situated a research center ‘Print Technology Center (PTC)’ the PTC provides ideal conditions to become acquainted with the best-in-class technology in sheetfed offset printing and to put their systems to the test.

Roy Guo did talk about recently introduced Evolution press with much enhanced feeding system, which brings in 65 percent less production cost for printers. Roy Guo invited all to their booth in PRINT CHINA 2015.

For Masterwork, integration of technology is the biggest strength. Louis Lu, business development direcoter, Masterwork talked about their core competitiveness like 365 days availability and 24×7 services. He also conveyed two different features which include VIP (five years service contract) and forex safeguard for international buyers. On the product front he talked greatly about their model 2160 SPE, which is ‘All in one pass’- stamping, embossing, die-cutting, striping and blanking.

Masterwork is also co-working with Heidelberg in a strategic partnership. Ricoh comes with a tag line ‘Transform your business with Ricoh.’ As per Tommy Tang, product marketing manager of Production Printing Business Development Department providing flexibility to customers has been their main motto. Degree of working with accuracy in case of complexity, accuracy is yet another feature for them. Combination of offset and digital is their another USP for applications like transactional segments.

Tommy Tang talked about their display of various presses in China Print (2013), in All in Print China (2014) and now getting set for PRINT CHINA 2015.

It was only last month Ricoh launched C9100 and C7100X which will also be on display in PRINT CHINA 2015. Along with Ricoh Pro VC60000 which is capable of producing more than 1,00,000 letter images per hour, provides a function-rich total solution for customers new to digital colour, and for those already using digital print but wanting to consolidate and streamline their operations, their current InfoPrint 5000 family will also be there at the show.
